So a piece of belt fish is 15.50. 1 piece of a 5 inch piece of fish is 15.50. Hilariously, if anyone just looks at the reviews for this place, you can tell this place this restaurant has a bunch of fake 5 star reviews. Post a 5 star and get a discount or free side dish or something. Yelp is rampant with this reviews. No way this place is a 5 star. You have people making 10+ reviews with the same content. Why review a place so many times. Free side dish.
My honest review. Place is outdated ,90's vibe. Dingy. Food is not terrible, has flavor, fully cooked? Portions are so small- teeny tiny tiny portions, extremely expensive for what's given. Worker's attitudes are terrible. Snippy and combative. Business has deceptive practices and crazy prices. It's San Gabriel. Great Taiwanese/Chinese/Asian food is everywhere. This place is a scam. l've eaten here twice. I thought the food was NOT 5 stars and everything else is not 5 stars. I felt depressed after eating here the 1st time and enraged the 2nd time. Just don't eat here. It's not worth it. Go somewhere where they don't give discounts for a good review? mean, there is a reason Why they need these reviews right? GO somewhere nearby where you can get decent food for a decent price? But power to the 5 star reviewers. Go ahead and get your discount over and over and over and over and over. I got 2x 3 item combos. 2 pieces of fish. $60 bucks. MEGA SCAM $$$$$$$$. Google reviews has the real reviews. The score seems accurate. I hate this place and just stay away. There were at least 4 health code violations that day too. I'll have to...

Came here with my BFF after so long since the last time we came to this area. Immediately, we picked three of our favorite items.. sat down, served the yummy goodies, and we devoured the dinner with full satisfaction!
Price has gone up.. for three items and porridge for two, it came up to 64.41 + tip. I mean... the portions were big as always, the taste of their food was just as delicious as I remembered.
The service was good! The place was still as neat and well maintained as always! Nothing changes... it's always giving us the familiar "homey" feel to the exact LU'S GARDEN from over two decades ago since I've been here the first time in 2001.
We both were stuffed and brought home some leftovers. Highly recommended for anyone who likes or would like to give this place a try.
Parking sometimes is hard since the parking lot is small & shared by many other...
Read moreSo I’m pretty new to Southern California and work took me out to San Gabriel on a Friday night. I saw the wide variety of Asian restaurants around me and decided to stop in the town for something a bit outside my comfort zone. A quick internet search brought me to Lu’s Kitchen, and I must say that I am happy that I ended up there. The staff was friendly, the service quick, and the food tasty. I ordered the soy sauce chicken from the cafeteria line with some white rice to go with it. They served me a large portion of dark meat on the bone in a savory sauce that had hints of ginger. My meal ended up being $20 (with tip and a coke), which I think is fair for gourmet eating in the area. It’s probably best to go with a small party so that you can try multiple dishes, and get more bang for your buck. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, and I’d be happy to stop at Lu’s...
