Boiling point is an aptly named restaurant because the food is kept at a pretty consistent boiling point when it is put in front of you. If this sounds like a great thing, it’s really not. What happens is the food is kept at a consistently high temperature that requires you to spend the majority of your time blowing on your food to bring it down to a more edible temperature. The end result is you spend much more time than is really needed to eat the portion you are given. Before you realize it, you are no longer hungry despite not having eaten much because you lose your hunger sitting around blowing on your food the whole time. It doesn’t matter what flavor of hot pot you select (they have 10 flavors), the predominant ingredient in each is napa cabbage. Expect the entire bottom portion of your boiling point hot pot under the meat or seafood to be all cabbage filler. Service was lacking, other than taking your order and bringing your food, don’t expect much else. Recommend: Nothing, do hot pot at...

They appear to have enough wait staff so maybe it was the kitchen that couldn't keep up. Also do much wasted space in the restaurant. Didn't really understand the inform... They look militant... No idea why. There were 2 employees with Trainee labeled on their shirts. They just shadowed the other folks.
We ordered the Beef, Seafood and Tofu, and Japanese Miso. They came back and said Seafood and Tofu is out. We chose Thai. Food took a while to come out. Beef was way spicier than the mild we asked for so we added more broth to water it down. Thai was tom yum soup based... Not what we thought. Japanese Miso was decent.
Overall, food was nothing to rave about. Service was meh... One of our sauces was out and never refilled, same with our water. Wait was...
Read moreBoiling point has been one of my favorite hotpot places since our first tasted in Southern California in 2014. When we are craving for small hot pot, this is definitely our top place to go.
For lunch you will get one drink for free(black or green tea), including weekend, which is very amazing.
Their appetizer was not as impressive as the hotpot when we visited in November, 2021.
We got House Special and Seafood & Tofu this time.
House special has been a very classic and authentic Taiwanese small hotpot flavors.
I like how Seafood & Tofu has lots of seafood instead of those typical hotpot seafood ball you would see in other places. They put too much white pepper in the soup base, so it tasted not as plain as I expected. Gladly they were able to add soup so it tasted a lot better after that.
The white pepper was the main reason I gave 4 stars but overall it’s very good and tasty. Will definitely...
