Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches is still trending in the Bay Area and I was finally able to try a very popular food truck in the South Bay @ChicknBros.SJ. They offer four different sandwiches and along with two different types of tenders and sides. They really allow you to customize your sandwich to your heart's desire. They have options from the ingredients in the sandwich to how you want your sauces on the buns or on the side. I got the Angry Bird deluxe, which is a Beer battered fried chicken, orange spicy adobo aioli sauce (Bro Sauce), white sweet and tangy sauce (Chick Sauce), purple cabbage, onion, pickles, local honey, brioche bun with level one spiciness, Cayenne. They offer five different levels of spiciness. I have glad I choose level one because I could handle it and it was perfect for my tasting. If you are adventurous, level three or above would be great for you. I love how crispy and tender the chicken was. The purple cabbage along with onions and pickles added so much depth to the sandwich. This is first place that I have been to that puts honey on the chicken, which was good and unique. The bread was soft and toasted, which was a perfect complement to the sandwich. What impressed me the most was the ordering system, which allowed you to order in advance and and set your pick up time based on availability. Once you get to the truck, it will only take about ten minutes to make. At one point, people would wait an hour plus for these sandwiches. They are located in front of a Hype Beast shoe store, Kickz, so you can check them out while you wait. I really enjoyed this sandwich and can not wait to come back to try the tenders. @ChicknBros.SJ

Read moreMost people familiar with the chicken sandwich scene in the south Bay area will know that Chick'n bros is one of the three best joints to grab a hot one. Their menu is only chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders so if youre vegetarian then its only going to be curly fries for dinner.
There are five spice levels and I believe there's a weekly contest for anyone who can finish a level 5 sandwich completely. Yes, that sandwich can be weaponized. I would say I have a pretty good tolerance to spice and I generally live in the level 2-3 area. Level 4 I'm afraid should be reserved for dares with a good amount of money or pride on wager. The tenders on offer are pretty big portions, offering a lot more value than a sandwich in my opinion.
The biggest thing differentiating Chick'n bros from Scratch and Chubby's is how juicy their meat is. The meat isn't greatly cut to a specific shape but is perfectly spiced and fried. The result does not lend itself to a very convenient sandwich eating experience. However, the effect in terms of the taste more than makes up for the mess one would make eating it. In short, regardless of whether you like a clean sandwich eating experience or otherwise i would definitely recommend you try this atleast once. They have me coming back again and...
Read moreChick n' Bros ♥ 💓 💖 Ok I leave very honest reviews based on my experience. I follow them on Instagram and hoped one day I'd remember to try them. Well folks today was the day. I ordered the ANGRY BIRD w/ their seasoned fries. I like spicy but I wanted to see what they considered spicy so I ordered a level 3 which I believe is ghost pepper. First off the sandwich is beautiful 😍 with purple cabbage a crispy piece of chicken pickles and a very tasty aioli sauce ( I don't recall the name) and the seasoned fries on the side are a great compliment. Most of the ghost pepper was sort of in the middle of the sandwich, I would have preferred a more even distribution. But it does have a very flavorful heat without destroying the chances of finishing it (like their Friday challenge does). Overall I was very impressed with the meal. Good and unique food does come with a cost... be prepared with a $20 or better. I will be returning to see what they do with a level 4 and a level 5. I can see why they stay busy... way to go CHICK N' BROS you can teach a thing or 2 to angry chiks......
