China Delight — Restaurant in San Jose

Family dinner tonight at China Delight. I am not happy and was very upset to find my final meal bill waiting for my signature. The tip was hand written on both receipts customer's copy & restaurant copy, by the restaurant server or staff. Its up to the Customer to decide if were going to leave a tip not the restaurant!! Tip was at 16.4% restaurant expected to get $19.50, bill $118.45 without tip. I can't imagine how many more people they've done this too!! We had a party of 3 adults, 2 children 8 and 1 infant. First time for grandchildren and daughter. The service wasn't great!! Food ok. I was so upset, family waiting, I did leave a $10 tip, now home i think i shouldn't of left anything just to prove a point! Tips are earned not entitled to take!! Now i'm leaving a review hoping this doesn't happen to anyone else always check your bill, no one should fill in the tip for you if not agreed before hand. Understood party's larger than 8 to 10 yes they would get a tip automatic depends on restaurant. Server checked on our table once. We were teaching the grandchildren eating family style and having good manners when out at a restaurant. New lesson on tipping was given driving home. We will not be return back to...

I came here with my girlfriend last week and was left with a pretty good impression, so I decided to bring my family here since the food was really good. I was so excited to share a beer with my father after a long day. We had the lady waiter take our order but she refused to serve me a beer, she kept saying I looked too young and I’ve never had this problem happen to me before, It was very frustrating after a long day and we drove pretty far to get this. I had forgotten my ID, and I get the risks for a business owner. But I saw them serve a beer to a family while their teenage daughter drank it. We tried to ask people for sauce and were ignored until the we asked a 5th person. The honey walnut shrimp was very good, the chow mein was so good it did not need soy sauce. The food is honestly some of the best Chinese food I’ve had but it’s a shame that my meal was ruined just because of this. It’s expensive, and definitely not...

We go to this place often, we order from them often. We have had huge parties and done to go orders with them often. We were very loyal customers who have recommended many people to this Chinese restaurant. But if you have any sort of food allergies avoid this place. We have a family member with severe nut allergy and told them to exclude nuts, and guess what, the food had NUTS. Thank goodness we discovered it before we fed it to her as she could have had serious complications including death!!!! They didn't take our concern seriously and said oh those are not nuts. I think a table of ten clearly can tell when there is a nut on the dish. Their lack of concern and lack of respect makes me think twice about spending another dollar with them. We live in an area with plenty of options and happy to take our business to a place that cares about our well being and wants...
