In San Jose, this is my favorite Denny's. Great Management, great Location, great Food and almost Great Service.
I love giving five stars, but Customer Service and Diamond Quality Products unfortunately are no longer something part of the American Business Landscape. Consumers in the United States got spoiled with Excellence in the Service and Retail Sector a few decades ago.
Once upon a time in America there were numerous companies which excelled in working 120% to please the customer. You told your company service person that you felt you were getting short-changed and three minutes they are back at your table or near your shoulder straightening out the problem. Or their boss was there with them telling them what to do to correct the situation and to cultivate your good will.
if you were born in the USA before 1970, you probably remember such businesses as Sears-Roebuck Stores, J.C. Penny's, Walmart, Walgreens and F.W. Woolworth's, and Dillard's Depart Stores. The people who founded these outstanding businesses believed in great products, customer service that excelled and they trained their employees (despite extremely low pay) to work quite hard to make all customers to have a Happy Experience.
Well even the Millennials and Gen X people recognize that Customer Service in America is severely lacking at most businesses.
Denny's tries hard as an American Business here now in 2023 and 2024. Such businesses need to strive for a much higher minimum wage, Tip sharing should make it possible for cooks and janitors to always walk to the parking lot each day or night with several extra dollars in their pocket.
Denny's has been a great company I'm the past. Let's once again make it America's Favorite Dinner, but America's Favorite Place to Work. This is not just a goal for the Berryessa Road and Capitol Avenue location but for all Denny's in San Jose, in the SF Bay Area, in California and throughout the great United...
Read moreAlthough my husband and myself didn't have much money, we were able to split a pancake combo breakfast. It was enough to fill us and the 9 grain pancakes were large and very tasty. The over medium eggs were cooked just right, the fruit very fresh. We also had a side of hash browns which were crispy outside and not mushy inside. Our waitress was very good and came by with a coffee refill at the right time. So, with a discount, and a 20% tip we ate for about $18. I'd call that a good deal. 😊 Well, here's an update 3/30/19: It was around 3pm. Busy but not overly busy as only one side of the restaurant was open and there were several empty booths and tables. The hostess brought us to a booth which was between booths which each had large parties. We asked could we sit at the booth across from that area where there was 2 empty booths. She just shrugged and walked away, asked the bus person to clean that table. She didn't smile or collect the menus and walk us over to the table or let us know our server would be with us soon. There was no one else waiting to be seated or to be checked out. Guess we interrupted her day by coming in. However, after about an 8 minute wait our waitress came and took our order. Hang, was very sweet and checked on us several times during our meal. Always smiling and made us feel welcome. She was the opposite of the hostess. We are questioning if we'll be back to this location because everyone should be greeted warmly and not made to feel that asking for a different table is a bad thing. MAKE ALL CUSTOMERS FEEL WELCOME! If it werent for us you...
Read moreNever go to this place Racist! I didn't wanted to start my message with the word RASIST, but i have to do this because of todays experience. I was in the area with my wife and felt like dining at your restaurant, we were greeted at front desk and were offered a seat. We requested for a cup of coffee first.Server (ELIAS) served coffee and slice of toast without a tray, which he dumped it on the table rudely. First I thought this might be due to busy schedule. But I was wrong. Secondly while he was taking our order he treated us like we are ALIEN from other world and as we have come inn by mistake. He brought our order on the table, and I requested him for coffee refill,He took our cups and literally brought no MORE THAN 1/4 of cup full, saying we ran out of coffee and he will bring more once it gets ready. I requested him to get some creamers and he left ignoring my request. I made eye contact with him to remind him that I asked him for creamers, but he ignored and kept on talking with his coworkers. We kept waiting for coffee and creamers for 30 min. which we never got, I called the manager (Maria) who came after 20 mins I told her whole matter.
While this all was going on the Sever who was passing by around the table talking with co workers kept making funny faces and had no regret,as he did intentionally
I have been to different locations with my kids and family, but this was most worst experience ever. Still waiting...
