We used Gunther’s Catering for our backyard October wedding in Willow Glen. Gunther’s provided food, beverages, bartender, service staff, tables, chairs, linens, china, flatware, glassware, and ice. Not to mention pickup and delivery!

Steve (from Gunther’s) was nothing short of amazing. He patiently fielded all our questions (and trust me, there were many!) and provided suggestions, sage advice, and (as needed) a hefty dose of much-needed reassurance. We even had the luxury of a private tasting at Gunter’s Restaurant. Steve also provided recommendations for other vendors such as a florist, DJ service, etc.

Steve came out for a site visit twice to figure out logistics, spacing and “what goes where.” He met with me and our planning team and patiently considered all ideas and offered his own tried and true suggestions.

Since this was my first, last and only wedding it was important to me and you know what? It was just as important to Steve.

The food was outstanding! In fact, our friends are still talking about how great the food was. The service staff and bartender were efficient and professional. They knew what they were doing and it showed! And those cookies!

Our backyard was transformed into a magical venue, even surpassing what we had hoped for.

Looking to try something different for a change, we stopped in at Gunther's. When you walk in, you quickly realize that they have a huge menu. "On the wall" they also have a big selection of bottled sodas, a soda dispenser and lots of yummy looking desserts. The offer take out, bar seating and dining tables. We sat in a nice booth. I ordered a hot chocolate "with milk please, no hot water" (no problem will get that for you) very good and nice and hot, just like I like it. For filling my tummy I ordered a Corn beef "and" Pastrami Sammy "I asked them to mix the 2 meats" comes with milted cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions and roasted peppers. I also got a side of their Mac & Cheese. Pops got a Tri-Tip Sammy with cheese and roasted peppers. The Mac & Cheese is creamy and cheesy 3.5 stars The Hot chocolate "with whip cream" hit the spot 4 stars The Tri Tip Sammy pops said was good but the meat was chewy 3 stars My Pastrami and Corn beef........ Wow!! The French bread crust was crispy on top and soft in the middle and had a nice sour dough taste. The combo of Corn beef, Pastrami, sauté onions and shrooms with the cheese and roasted Peppers DAMN!!! 5 stars all day every day!! The Sammy is also really big, I was only able to finish half. Pops asked if I was gonna share the other half with my wifey "I think my expression said it all, cuz pops started laughing" sorry hunny this...

Had to make a stop at Gunther's today. The food taste home made and fresh. The waiters and waitres were great. Very helpful and knowledgeable on the food and menus. I had to try the beef stew in a cup and a tri tip sandwich on a fresh sour dough bread. It was delish. Took me to NOM NOM city. The place is not too big. Kind of medium size inside and cozy, on a busy location in West San Jose. Meridian and Hamilton. The deserts OMG is a whole different splendid experience. Look at the menu's they have and I took one picture of the cakes and cookies they show in a glass cabinet when you enter the facility. I totally love the German theme this place has of the food and decorations in the restaurant. If you want to try something different in your food restaurant. Stop by Gunther's you will be satisfied. I guarantee it. I have been to this place twice. I have some photos of the pancakes and breakfast sandwich I had back in 2023. They have catering service and specialize in the desert and sweet yummies...
