Heard about Haiku Teahouse opening so decided to give them a try!
I ordered the Calamansi Green Tea with boba. $6.50 for the drink and $0.50 adder for the boba. Drink ended up being around ~$8 after tax and tip. Pricing at this point is about the same across most boba shops where drinks are between $7-$8.
I ordered it at Signature Sweet. Generally, I usually go 25% at most boba shops. Knowing that I usually order a passion fruit green tea wherever I go...I knew Calamansi was going to be on the more tart side...so I opted to try at their default level. In my opinion, the sugar level is spot on for this drink at signature.
Boba was cooked well. Nice and chewy and not overly sweet. I enjoyed the aftertaste of the tea here. The boba here is definitely more tea forward, which is my preference.
I was planning to get another drink for my sister (who wanted a hot bev), but they currently do not offer any hot teas.
There is some seating inside. Ambiance is nice. I visited a few days after their opening...so this review is during their soft opening. Staff was still getting trained up when I visited. So if there are a lot of folks...be patient!
I've been in the area a few times, so I knew there was some street parking that I could find. After talking to the staff, they did mention that parking was available in the same complex. If you go find the parking garage entrance, there should be retail parking available if you keep driving further down...so definitely park in the garage for easier in/out access!!
I'm excited to try out their different green teas. Guava/strawberry peaked interest and they said they use actual fruit purees which is nice!
I'll be back soon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGrand opening this weekend. There is one free drink for the first 25 customers and Buy one get one for free for other customers on October 12 and 13. Therefore there is a huge line in front of the store.
We went with friends who came all the way here so stayed in the line and waited one hour for the drink.
We ordered Guava Hojicha Latte($7.25), which is the signature drink of this tea house. We ordered 0% sugar level. Guava is sweet but overall it is a little bit bitter. I guess 25% would be the perfect level of sweetness for me. (Default signature level is 75%)
The free one we got is corn Einspanner($7), it is corn milk topped with house made cream. Einspanner seems to be Korean style Latte. I ordered 0% sugar for this drink too. The corn milk itself is sweet so this drink is sweeter than hojicha latte. The cashier said it is about 25%.
Corn latte($6.75) looks fancier as it has a corn shaped ice cream on the top.
Service is good. Cashier is friendly. If the line is shorter, it...

Haiku Teahouse is a bit off the beaten path, if you drive to fast or aren't paying attention, it's easy to drive past. Parking was a bit confusing form me, luckily I fund some street parking and strolled over. There was a decent amount of seats inside for a Teahouse. My order only took about 5 min to make, grabbed my Boba and left...

While I though the drinks were good. I didn't think they were outstanding or amazing. Social media got me again... Or perhaps the competition is so fierce here in the Bay Area, it's just hard to stand out now. Give it a shot if you are...
