Jelly Donut — Restaurant in San Jose

We stopped by The Jelly Doughnut in the morning and were happy to find plenty of parking, making for an easy and stress-free visit. Right away, we were greeted by the friendly and helpful staff, which set a welcoming tone for our experience.

We ordered a mix of treats: doughnut holes, a Chocolate Cronut, and a Chocolate Bar (unfilled). All the doughnuts were fresh and delicious, with a nice balance of texture and flavor. The doughnut holes were light, fluffy, and a perfect bite-sized treat. The Chocolate Bar had a great chocolatey flavor without being overly sweet, making it an easy favorite.

The Chocolate Cronut was certainly indulgent, with a rich, buttery texture that combined the best of a croissant and a doughnut. While it was well-made and enjoyable, I found it a bit sweeter than I personally prefer after a few bites. That said, those who love sweeter pastries would probably love it!

Overall, The Jelly Doughnut delivers on freshness, flavor, and great service. The variety of options makes it easy to find something for every doughnut lover. This is a classic donut shop run by a truly wonderful staff. They also make great breakfast hot sandwiches, bagels, cronuts, and have some more special donuts that I don't normally see. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, always happy to chat but most the time they have a lot of customers so I don't want to take up their time too much. I've been going here since I was in middle school, 2011. For the past decade they've been consistent in service and food quality every visit. Sometimes they even throw in complimentary doughnut holes, even through COVIDseason. I'm in love with the egg sandwiches here for $6 but I wouldn't have it any other way.
