This placed popped up as a suggestion on Yelp. I have tried almost all the restaurants/food trucks in the Bay Area that serve food from the state of Maharashtra. I had a go to spot which IMO served the best Vada Pav in the Bay, until now :) Went here to dine in. The place doesnt have a lot of tables (3). Looks more suitable for take out. Its a family run joint and the people are friendly. Ordered a couple things from the menu.

Vada Pav: One of the tastiest I have had outside India. The vada, the chutney and specially the pav. I talked to the owner and was told they make the pav in-house.

Pav Bhaji: Very flavorful. Ordered extra pav which are toasted with butter.

Mutter (Peas) Kachori: Nice and crunchy on the outside with a tasty mutter stuffing. Didnt feel as oily as most other restaurants.

Corn Cutlet: Tasty and not too spicy. My 3 yo approves :)

Cant wait to try the other items...

What can I say about Kadhai Kitchen?

Excellence is a tiny word for the food and the quality. It's a to-go place and definitely a must try for street food lovers!

The menu has limited items, which makes sense granted the effort they put in while making these delicious and savory food items.

I've seen people complain about the so-called higher prices but they forget the food quality and the taste. Judging by the quality of the boxes they used to pack their food, it makes sense to command a decent price.

I'm happy to pay a dollar or 2 extra for the exceptional taste that resembles the vada pav and Dahi Kachori from Mumbai.

Please do join the rewards, I did speak to the older gentleman at the counter, and he seems to be the owner as well. Awesome experience and simply 5* food.

Update: We have completed 5 rounds of orders in 2 months, and I can say that they are...

I love Indian food, but actually just realized I have not touched the surface of Indian cuisine. We stopped by this little shop while in town several months ago and tried 4-5 items here. I didn't recognize any of the stuff I had here, because they're non-existent in my hometown. I have nowhere else to compare, because this is the only vada pav I have ever had, but it's ah-mazing. It's also not expensive! And here I thought everything in the Bay Area is supposed to be expensive. I'd rather eat this than a fast food burger any day. The only thing I'd complain about is seating. High chairs are not comfortable. I guess if you're catering only to to-go orders, then it doesn't matter. However, we are from out of town, so need a sit-down...

Amazing find. Thanks to yelp. We drove all the way from Dublin to taste their food, and a 40 mins drive on a weekend was worth it. We ordered their corn cutlet, Vada pav and pav bhaji, and also their walnut date cakes. Corn cutlets were really freshly made and is of a good portion size , based on the price. But their highest point is their freshly made buns, which are an amazing addition to the freshly made stuffings of the Vada pav and pav bhaji. The walnut cakes were amazing and I didn’t expect this kind of baked goods in a ‘hole in the wall’ type restaurant. Altogether, this place gives me a genuine reason to stay in the Bay Area. Perfect OG food. Keep the taste running and I can almost see this place getting flooded with customers.

Fantastic vada pav and pav bhaji! I'd say the best vada pav l've had outside Pune and that's huge since we both grew up eating Puneri food. The pavs were just phenomenal and wrapped intelligently with fried green chillis and fresh besan boondi. All chutneys were encased beautifully inside each vada pav. The pavs with the bhaji were beautifully buttered and were the perfect accompaniment to their bhaji. The best pav bhaji lve had in the Bay Area! Buttery pav and bhaji was served with finely chopped fresh onions and a wedge of lime. The corn cutlets were crispy and nice too. They were savory and not sweet at all. Show them some love as you don't get these flavors elsewhere.
