This is one of the best kept secrets of San Jose. It's authentic Mexican food. They serve handmade corn tortillas always, they are thicker than the store bought ones, so expect that. Mexicans and Chicanos love handmade corn tortillas. Here they do a great job with them. They have different options on how to get your Birria. Regular is the goat meat in the red broth, this is one of our top favorite ways to get it. The other favorite way is Seco, which means the meat is on a plate and the broth is served on the side. This way we can make tacos of the meat and dip it in the broth or just eat the broth separate. They also serve the ribs of goat, lamb (borrego), and beef. Be ready for some crispy parts and my favorite on these is the fatty parts and it has just enough to add all kinds of flavor. Again this is great for making your own tacos. The rest of the food on the menu is really good and sometimes we come here for that too, but mainly for the Birria. We love that they have endless coffee, so don't worry that the cups look small, they keep them filled. The waitresses are extremely nice and very helpful, if they are busy please be patient they will get to you. OMG! One time our waitress was holding a full tray of drinks and stopped to ask us if everything was alright and if we needed anything. Can you imagine a full tray of drinks has got to be heavy, but that's their dedication here. It's is family owned and operated. Decor is not up to par, but like I said we come for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in this past Sunday with family to eat at this place . The food is decent , but what isnāt decent are the employees who change the final amount on your bill . I was charged 65.00 dollars and we left a ten dollar tip . I was checking my account online and noticed that the restaurant charged 75.00 to my account . I had written on my receipt that the amount total to be charged would be 65.00 . I know itās just ten dollars , but how can you trust a place who steals from you . If they are not honest with their money what makes you think that they are honest with hygiene , produce , meat etc . I will not be returning and I suggest that others stay away from this place . People tend to go to this place to eat and drink and are not aware of what they are being charged . I am disgusted by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a great hidden gem. It's a little out of date with how it looks for some people I'm sure but the atmosphere reminds me of when I was a little girl eating out on the weekends with my dad. It felt comforting. And food was delicious! Tortillas echa mano and you get full with the serving they give you. My husband loves their birria de Chivo. He says it's his favorite spot to eat it. My dad says the same. I had Chile relleno rice and beans it was so good. Hot and cheesy. Not the cheap nasty cheese either. Everything food wise was absolutely delicious and I would always go back if I'm served this way all the time. The waitress was super friendly and attended us as needed. It was never an awkward "are you doing...
