Recommend this restaurant Chefus, 1072 S De Anza Blvd B103, San Jose, CA 95129 This store has Shanghai cuisine, Sichuan cuisine, Northwest cuisine, Cantonese cuisine, etc. There are also other cuisines (Japanese cuisine, Mexican cuisine, etc.) available for takeaway on the website. Different cuisines correspond to different chefs, and there are many dishes to choose from The business model is slightly different from other stores. The decoration and environment are relatively simple and elegant, and both take-out and dine-in are available. Semi-self-service mode We tried a few dishes today, and they tasted good. The meat in Roujiamo is very fragrant, tastes good, and in other words, unlike the bread (mo) that I'm used to eating, it would be great if the bread were scones. The spicy beef jerky is ok, but not strong flavor enough, not numb enough. The big plate chicken is slightly different from what I have eaten before, such as no potatoes and onions, the overall taste is ok, slightly spicy. The walnut prawns were good, the lettuce was fresh, the salad should be mayonnaise, slightly sweet. The taste of Sixi roasted bran is quite authentic, but there is one less ingredient - peanuts. The spicy large intestine tastes good except that it is not spicy enough. This store has just opened for less than a month, and all the dishes are served in disposable lunch boxes, and small bottled water is free today. The price and taste are economical, except for the smaller portion. Recommend...
Read moreThe prices are quite affordable! About $10 for an entree, so with our elite perks... I was able to get two whole entrees. One to eat and one to save for lunch tomorrow :)
I got the Braised Tofu and the Shanghai-style Braised Duck in Brown Sugar Sauce. Also tried some of my partner's Honey Walnut Prawn and Beef Chow Mein! My favorite was DEFINITELY the braised tofu! Very flavorful gravy and custard-like tofu. Paired with the napa cabbage and wood ear mushrooms? DELICIOUS.
Overall, everything was flavored well and the portions were great. My only complaints? The beef in the chow mein wasn't seasoned. Though the duck was flavored perfectly... it was strangely served cold, which I have never seen before. So I warmed it up when I got home. Just some minor details.
The interior of this place is what I really enjoyed! Very cute and modern interior. Board games and water bottles available for all customers. This is a great late-night hangout spot! I'll definitely return here...
Read moreThis used to be Chef Yu, I guess they couldn't make it with the chef-centered practice and thus changed its setting to include wait staff and a new cuisine concept of Sichuan Le Shan beef pot. The food was flavorful and tasted. The $40 Le Shan Beef Pot (乐山翘脚牛肉锅)however did not worth the price with its size and portion, it satisfied the taste buds on the spot but it contained MSG that you'll likely find out before bedtime. 😜 The pot had cow organs/tissues such as tongue, tripe, tendon etc. in there so be aware of it. The Spicy boiled fish fillet 水煮鱼片 was as authentic as it can get, spicy level can be adjusted just tell them. That was probably the best dish we ordered.
Pros: friendly service. The waitress even asked if we wanted more soup and helped us pack to-go. Nice service. Clean environment. Cons: shabby paper/plastic utensils, self-serve setting with to-go boxes and water. A bit shabby on...
