We came in and were exciting for some nice pho after swimming, the man in the front with the suit was so rude off the bat! First of all he sat us down and no water was given but the table next to us i saw he gave them water, second was they only had enough for one bowl of chicken pho but we all wanted it so I was trying to ask him some questions like oh can I have maybe half chicken half beef or beef with chicken broth? He was extremely rude and unprofessional with his answers and I was willing to get up and leave but my friend didnāt want to so we stayed. I ended up ordering the beef pho with steak and meatballs which was good but I didnāt even feel hungry anymore after being treated that way for asking 2 simple questions. Another thing was my friend ordered avacado spring rolls and the avacado in it was hard as a rock and we all know hard avacado is gross and has no taste so my friends mom told him that itās hard and should serve ripe avacados and he began to say ābecause we normally put shrimp in itā I have no clue what that has to do with the avacados being hard and gross⦠he was disregarding her whole request even though she was nice about it and wanted to help him with food quality and standards instead he completely ignored her and kept looking over to someone who came in to the kitchen. rude. That guy needs an attitude adjustment Iām assuming heās the owner so being the owner and acting like that doesnāt make the place look good at all because wow the place is so pretty and clean but heās got to go! Also the servers/ kitchen workers were very nice though. If youāre craving pho and youāre around this area just go down the street to pho hoa we just wanted to try something new but we will be going back to the original...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered the special pho (advertised to come with tripe and other meats) and traditional broken rice place no. 30 (advertised to come with pork chop, shredded pork, and egg cake). Our pho didnāt have any tripe and our rice plate came without shredded pork. I typically wonāt order a rice plate if it doesnāt come with the shredded pork, since itās what makes it authentic. It wouldāve been fine if they told us those things were missing after we order, but they just serve the food thinking we would not notice. The shredded pork was replaced with fried egg. The rice plate also took very long to arrive about 20 min after the pho. They asked me if I want to replace my plate after I started eating and I asked for the shredded pork on the side instead, but after our family finished eating already (about 45 min after arriving at the restaurant), the shredded pork still has not arrived. At the end when we were paying, we asked that they charge me the Pork Chop plate instead of the Traditional Rice Plate , somehow we already got charged the full price , so then they finally gave us rice and shredded pork in a to go box. It took so long to make it right that the mood was just ruined at this point. The restaurant looks nice, clean and has better ambiance compared to a typical Pho place, but I think I will rather go to a dirtier Pho place with better service and food. The food was just ok. The pho flavor is decent. The pork chop was small in the rice plate. Their spring rolls and the sauce were just mediocre. If you must come here, get only the Pho since it comes fast, but donāt expect to get every meat advertised...

They have hot pot, which I am sure is Viet style in every way. I'll have to come back and give it a try as well.
I ordered pho with brisket only, and the staff made every effort to get it right. I hope they keep this up because it is restaurant style service. I also came on Sunday evening on a rainy weekend, seating with only 4 other tables with customers in a 40 plus table capacity. Anyway, I'm very picky about pho quality and broth. The cooks made the mark with it and the oil amount being just at the right amount in heaviness. Anymore would be horrid.
The service scape and interior is very chic and modern, French accents, and Viet Cafe music running in the background. Very fitting and likeable.
Desert menu, they have one thank goodness and the drinks look great. I ended up getting the lychee delight, served stylishly in a drink flask. That tasted just right like a mojito.
I will walk home with a classic Viet bologna banh mi sandwich to go and won't have to think twice that this sandwich will be made right. š
Thank you Pho Banh Mi and wish this place good luck down the road. It will do well. They have other locations as well in Palo Alto...
