The things I'm about to say might seem sacrilegious but these are just the opinions of my wife and I.
I've been to La Vic in downtown San Jose before, near the college, and enjoyed myself there. But the one on Almaden Expressway is closer to us and when we tried it we found the experience very disappointing. The money to quality and quantity ratio was very poor. The other "Mexican" spot near us we'd been using was Chipotle but every few months they go down a notch in quality and we've also noticed we're getting less protein than we used to for the same price. This led us to finally branch out and try someplace new.
Lucy's is quite possibly our new go-to for real Mexican food. The prices are reasonable, the quality is good, and you get enough food to fill you up. The space is a bit small, so I don't recommend eating in. You can phone in your order ahead of time, which is awesome, because you can just run in, pay, and grab your food without waiting in that tiny space. The parking is problematic but they have a shared lot and it's not Lucy's fault, just keep in mind you might need to use nearby street parking if it's really busy rather than parking in the lot right in...
Read moreI would like to give them 5 stars because their food is out of this world good. Chips aren’t fresh in the mornings but during the day it’s 11/10.
I’d like to touch on the 4% for customer service. It’s worth to pay 4% customer service then 15% for tip but I’d like to really say they shouldn’t charge 4% for customer service fee if their customer service is poop! Excuse my language but being real honest all the old timers and people who’ve worked there they’re awesome. Meal always comes with free chips salsa. They have the most awesome food. But there is a girl that works there her name is Alejandra. Everytime I go there the girl has bad attitude. Idk if it’s that she’s discriminating but the next couple comes up and they’re YT and she’s smiling with them. I’m very nice polite and I never did anything. This girl rolls her eyes and goes the whole 9 yards of making a customer feel so uncomfortable when they approach the register. No greeting nothing. You don’t have to greet your customers but you really don’t have to give attitude and tone is everything. You can sense in her tone that she’s either hating her job or having a terrible time and it’s not...

Prices raised, quality lowered. Another business taking the cheap route.
Place is going downhill, I hope they fix it. Where's the beef? last three times I went my carne asada burrito has been VERY short on beef and high on rice and beans. I'm eating one right now and am very unsatisfied.
I watched today - 1.5 scoops of beef, and not full spoons either. If you're going to raise prices at least keep the quality the same.
I gave this place 3 visits with a poor quality burrito. now that the prices have risen I'm gone. Bummer for me I guess.

Great place! Waaaay better than Burrito Factory down the street, and here's why:
They have good sized burritos for the price. They put plenty of steak on there. They taste great and have a variety of salsas. You get free chips. The burrito doesn't fall apart as you eat it.
This is why Lucy's was so busy today while Burrito Factory was empty. Went to the Factory today because of that. Now I see why Lucy's was busy...because they are that much better!
Edit: Hey Manuel reviewer,...
