McDonald's — Restaurant in San Jose

Recently this place remodeled. It is far worse now.

#1 The "menu" is now two TVs that keep changing and intermittently show advertisements. It makes it very difficult to find stuff, and very annoying to have to wait for ads. This is absurd.

#2 The counter is now much smaller, only two registers and harder to get someones attention cuz there's a big wall hiding the drive thru area. However there is now plenty of room for long lines behind the registers to make up for it.

#3 There are no self-service fountain drinks. This is annoying enough in the first place, but after waiting at counter to ask for refill, was told no refills. Never heard of a McDonalds without free refills.

The walls are also super ugly, especially the one hiding the drive thru area, has fake industrial looking wire boxes there.

Perhaps they're not done. Maybe they plan to put in those new style touch-screen self service drink stations (like at cinemas and burger king down the road), which aren't as easy as the old style, but do offer more selection and save them space.

Perhaps they plan to put some self service touchscreen order things to make up for lack of cashiers, but haven't done so yet.

If they put those things in front of the ugly wall, and maybe more TVs to fit the full menu and stop playing ads, it would be almost as good as before. I don't see a single thing better after this remodel, everything is worse.

Additionally, this place used to have two TVs, one on cartoons and one on the news, now they're both gone. I realize that was something not typical for McDonalds, but was nice. They used to have a bar/counter to sit if you were by yourself by the news TV, now its gone. Maybe they plan to put one on that ugly wall.

And the outdoor seating area is gone....

I really hope...

Worst McDonalds I've ever been to. I ordered a number 3 (breakfast) with an iced coffee, two extra hashbrowns, and a diet coke. I got to the first window and noticed they had not charged for the two extra hashbrowns. They asked if I still wanted them and I said yes so they charged me for them.

I got to the second window and they handed me a hot coffee. I told them we wanted iced coffee and they asked for the receipt and realized the guy had put hot coffee, not iced, but they swapped it. We checked our bag and saw they missed the two extra hashbrowns. I told them they forgot them and they asked for the receipt and the guy had only charged me for one extra hashbrown!!!

The guy at the window had someone else come, I assume the manager, but I could not understand her and just ended up telling them I wanted my money back for the one extra hashbrown. We left and found out they had shorted us a straw and given us the wrong breakfast sandwich.

All in all, out of the six items we ordered, the only item that they got right was the hashbrown that comes with...

This place used to be good and very quickly went downhill. I just left this place 20-30 minutes ago from the drive through and I was given cold burgers and uncooked fries. I only order mcdoubles and mcchickens and they wanted me to pull out of line amd park so their time doesnt go too high, but the second I came to the window they wanted me to move. I said ill wait right here. They almost immediately gave me my food...how does that make sense??!!

When I was handed my fries I said they arent cooked all at, then one of the managers said if i want cooked fries I need to pull out of line and wait.....really???!!!!

I tjen went insode and asked the managers name that told me that and a different manager would not give it to me, then proceeded to back up the otheramager.

So, moral of the story is if you want food that is cooked you need to go somewhere else or continue to leave reviews like this so they will hopefully get...
