Nick the Greek — Restaurant in San Jose

I used to love eating here! However I went yesterday and I had the beef/lamb plate with the salad and boy, was I ever disappointed. The meat was really greasy as was the pita bread. The pita bread was soggy like it was soaked in grease, if you squeezed it you could see the oil seeping out, it was not very appetizing. I showed them the pita bread and they were kind enough to make me a new order of crispy grilled pita bread, but that did nothing to help the greasy meat, which they claim was greasy because of the marinade for the salad. I don't recall the sliced meat being greasy the last time I had it. My salad consisted of tomatoes that were extremely mushy with almost no flavor and the greens were soggy and brown, which I didn't discover till I got home. The Greek salad dressing tasted different as well, it was too tart and vinegary tasting. I'm very turned off of this restaurant now because almost everything was unpalatable and I'm not sure if I'll come back here again. My friend, on the other hand, had the gyro and was very happy with it. She said it was delicious, so maybe I will give them another try....

For a quick bite, this place hits the spot. I’ve found their ‘plates’ most satisfying. It comes with a Greek salad, meat (I get beef/lamb), veggies, pita, fries and some dip. Plus they’ve got the cool Greek drinks ta-boot. Order at the counter style service, and quick prep, so if you’re in a rush and hungry, Nicks is a good choice. We’ve been to a few locations since they started opening all over, and as someone who supports local, I appreciate that the company started here and by locals….and bravo to them for expanding to such a huge network of tasty joints…..and again, the plate is where it’s at. PS…cheers to the crew in WG today....

This review comes after multiple mistakes and incorrect orders that I have received from pick to Doordash. This order was placed thru Doordash and was incorrect while missing quite a few items. Extra meat was not in my box, extra sauce not in the order, greek fries ordered but not in the actual order. My family placed their order but I built the plate to about $29 only to recieve a standard plate with no add ons and cold. This is unacceptable and will not be returning to this location. Try Yaissoo in Cambell on Bascom if you want your order to come out correct all the time, I have never had a problem...
