Que Huong Fast Food — Restaurant in San Jose

Happy to find this shop. I came around 11 am on a wkday. Easy parking, which I really appreciate. The steam tables were full and to-go containers of soup lined the edges. Was told by friendly staff that food is prepared fresh each day in the morning. Food looked quite appetizing; it was easy to pick familiar favorites or try something new.

I bought sweet and sour catfish soup, which was fresh and flavorful. Until I encountered what must have been a teeny little seed from probably a Thai/birdseye 🌶️ chili pepper and my mouth/throat/nose burned hotter than any hot salsa I’ve ever had. Owwwwwww!!! After running to the fridge and downing milk, oatmilk, juice, and honey, the capsaicin fire 🔥 eventually subsided. But PLEASE exercise caution in both making and consuming this soup. Hope this was just an anomaly.

I also tried their mam chung (steamed pork/fermented fish loaf.) Not many places seem to make this and I was happy to find it here. I came home and immediately tried some on a bowl of rice- it was very tasty, and until I learn to make it myself I will be back for more.

Cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) is made to order and strong. Looking forward to trying the rest of...

The food is South Vietnam authentic, salty and sweet! LOVE IT! I can never get enough of the food here. It's SOOO CHEAP! MUST TRY!!

Not only that, the people here are the NICEST people in the world! They keep apologizing for making me wait, which I don't mind at all when I need time to pick. Their attitude lightens up my whole day! The girl here is such a sweetheart, she's the nicest and cutest! Sometimes I come here just because of these people. Always have good experience...

Nhân viên ở tiệm này có thái độ tiếp khách cực kì khó chịu, nói chuyện cứ như muốn tát vào mặt khách. Mình vào mua đồ ăn, và chỉ vào một trong những cái hộp nhựa được xếp trên kệ cao quá đầu để chọn kích thước của hộp đồ ăn. Người đứng trong không thấy hỏi mình hộp nào. Mình cầm cái hộp giơ lên cao nói là cái hộp này. Vậy là người nhân viên gắt giọng lên quát lớn, chỉ cần nói loại hộp nào là được. Mình hỏi ở đây không để nhãn cho nhiều loại hộp kích thước khác nhau thì làm sao mình biết mà nói ( cũng khoảng 4 hay 5 loại) . Cô này lại lớn tiếng quát , coi trên cái đáy hộp đó. Nói chuyện như kiểu vô giáo dục và không được huấn luyện dạy để bán hàng. Sau đó, mình nói, cái hộp làm trong suốt như vậy, không cho cầm hộp lên , mà xếp ở trên cao như vậy ai mà đọc được. Vậy là cơn điên của người này nổi lên tiếp , còn nói lớn vào mặt mình, thôi đừng cãi. Thiệt không hiểu nổi người chủ ở đây sao lại mướn cái loại người như thế...
