Got my first milk tea from this place today. I usually donāt leave reviews but this was something else. First of, they only accept orders via a kiosk hidden in the back. Thatās not very clear, if you come from the other side. When I was ready to pay, the kiosk glitched, and I had to call them and explain what happened for them to reset it. The same happened to the other kiosk next to it. Once they reset it, we had to start over all the selections we had made. The kiosk doesnāt have milk substitution options, although they do carry alternative milk. So again, I had to ask them how to proceed with my order. At this point one would think it makes more sense for them to accept an order from me rather than from a kiosk, since the kiosk doesnāt allow substitutions and we had chatted about my order three times already. The drink was just ok, couldnāt finish even half of it. I ordered it 30% sweet and it wasnāt sweet at all (normally, I get it 25% sweet, which makes it subtly sweet). I added egg pudding and it was so thick, it wouldnāt get through the straw. I tried breaking it down with a straw but that didnāt help. My guess is it was not fresh/too old? Not sure what the reason could be. I always add an egg pudding to my order, and never experienced something like this before. I was already in my car when I realized that, so didnāt bother to go back for a refund. Not giving this place a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely ugly personnel, and to be specific 2 young girls working there (one of them is short, curly hair, wears a lot of makeup). I work at the mall and has been regular for a year. Recently I came in to get my usual and asked to blend my drink a little longer to break down taro chunks a little better, and one of the girls gave me the meanest look like I was asking something out of the proportion. I had doubts coming back after that encounter but decided to give it a shot second time. I saw the same girl working, so I asked another employee on a register to blend my drink longer. He passed this information to this girl and literally in 30 seconds my drink was served (which is totally passive-aggressive act). My request was completely ignored. I asked her why I get such a terrible push back, and her response was "you want extra taro chunks, but you don't want to taste them?". First of all yes, I love taro flavour and I like that chunks provide extra taste, but it doesn't mean I wanna chew on them when they can simply be blended longer and get dissolved in a drink. Asked for a refund and never coming back....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried R&B Tea for the first time. The mango matcha tea was customized by me using the online order screen by the kiosk. There are so many options (ice, sugar sweetness, add ins, etc) that it took people a REAL long time to order their drink. When I got my beverage, I stared at the cup and thought āwhere are the fresh mango chunks?ā The boba I had added ($0.60) was soft, not as chewy as other places though. For the price, R&B Tea is just okay. The flavor was mild. Optional alternative milk (I chose almond but they have oat too) is free, which is a plus. My favorite* boba tea shop place is still Little Sweet in San Francisco...
