I've come here at least a dozen times now. My usual order is the samosa chaat, without yogurt(which was previously $3.99, and is now $4.99). When this place first opened, everything was one dollar cheaper, and I remember being blown away at how low the prices were-I'm glad they charge a little bit more now, because honestly I don't think thry would've been able to stay in Evergreen Valley if they kept the prices so low.
Anyway, this is my go to spot if I'm tight on money and want some Indian food-not the best, but I've had worse. The samosa chaat has complex flavors, but it always seems like the chickpeas are cooked thoroughly; they tend to be a little hard. So minus one star.
Also, the service, tends to be a little uncomfortable; even when I am the only person in the shop, the men behind the counter tend to try to hurry and it can make one feel a bit anxious. It also kind of generally feels like they are slightly annoyed if I do happen to take more than three seconds to decide what I want. Minus one star for the somewhat indifferent service.
I should also mention that I don't eat animal products, but my friends have said that their butter chicken and naan...
Read moreA big no to this place. Today myself and my wife visited this restaurant and ordered a plate of Pani Puri. The water was as filthy as drainage with stench coming out of it. We could easily smell it.
When we went to the person at the desk, first of all he says that the person who took my order is responsible. Strange!! Why is he then at cash counter??
The person who took our order was evading and I ensured to stay back and ask for explanation. He offers that my taste preferences are better than pani puri water. What a great explanation. That’s when I got serious and demanded an explanation. Initially he was rude and mannerless. A gentleman had intervened and supported me. That ensured he is wrong.
A poor management and poor hygiene. It’s worth to eat somewhere else rather...
Read moreI like this East Indian take out place. I prefer their vegetarian dishes and I must warn you, they are in the hot side in taste!
I try to avoid gluten so I get Makki Roti (made of corn meal.)
They have a huge selection of sweets which look amazing. (I've never bought any because I don't want to eat sugar, but I see a LOT of East Indian residents coming in to buy them for gifts and parties.)
There is an Indian grocery store next door which is convenient if you want to buy yogurt for your meal. They also sell fruits and vegetables there too.
The parking lot is frequently crowded so you may need to wait for a space. It IS worth waiting for!
Try it! I think you'll...
