What if I told you the best sushi in the Bay Area is hidden in plain sight… and totally affordable?
📍 Sushi Day – San Jose’s Best-Kept Secret 🍣 Located at 2044 McKee Rd, San Jose, CA 95116, Sushi Day is hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area. This hidden gem offers an impressive variety of sushi—from fresh raw cuts to perfectly baked and crispy fried rolls. Whether you're a sushi purist or someone who loves creative fusion rolls, there’s something for everyone here.
What sets Sushi Day apart isn’t just the quality (which is consistently top-notch), but also how affordable it is for the experience you get. The ingredients are always fresh, the presentation is beautiful, and the flavors are well-balanced and satisfying. The service is warm, attentive, and quick—making you feel welcomed every time.
The taste? Next level. I find myself craving their rolls constantly. I genuinely love going here, and if you’re ever in San Jose, this is a must-visit.

However, I felt like the quality of the fish isn’t as good compared to other sushi restaurants. The Ichiban roll was good but I had to take out the tuna since the quality of it isn’t how I usually expect the tuna to be. Lion king roll was good but the salmon was a bit over cooked. Snow dragon had scallops on top which tasted good for a few bites but later on I felt like it was a bit too much. The house salad surprisingly had a lot of avocado which I also added on to my sushi.
The price for this spot is more affordable compared to other sushi spots. Service...
Read moreNeeded a place for our new new Friday, and came upon this as hot and new via Yelp. So we drove into the mini plaza and saw a big yellow banner saying grand opening, but they've been open for 2 months per the chef lol.
Walked in and noticed an empty bakery kitchen to the right and straight ahead a sushi area and counter surrounded by a bunch of yellow menus. Looked at the menu and decided to try some new things and some regular orders.
Firecracker roll - good but could be spicier
Spiderman roll - good nothing bad to say
Fairy godmother roll - could use more scallops but good
Carne asada roll - great new choice will be reordering this
I'll have to say, they didn't mess up and provided good rolls. Nice...
