The Orange Tabby — Restaurant in San Jose

I wasn't expecting to find such a cute cafe in an inconspicuous parking lot but I'm glad I googled "matcha tonic bay area" and they came up - I've really been into matcha tonics (over lattes) lately and this yuzu matcha tonic didn't disappoint.

As the other reviews mentioned, there is a $2 to-go fee (as they give you your drink in a mason jar), but I'm fine with that since I'll definitely be back lol. My only reason for a 4 star over a 5 is that the drink could have used more yuzu and less sparkling water (it tasted a tiny bit flat). Looking forward to trying...

I tried the pink coconut Matcha, which is just Matcha and coconut water, it was nice and pretty refreshing. I was originally going to get a latte, but they only offer alternative milks, like oat, soy, and almond. They encourage you to bring your own cup, or you can buy a two dollar cup from them which you can get refunded if you return. We dined in so they brought us glass cups and glass straws. ** be careful though because the dine in/for here cups are extremely thin, I accidentally hit the straw and knocked one over on the table...

This place is such a hidden gem! The staff is amazing and the drinks are incredible. I loved how smooth my strawberry matcha was even with the purée. We also arrived on the early side and they were still prepping the banana cream topping, so you know it’s super fresh! It was also very smooth and paired super nicely with the Beown Sugar Hojicha Latte. This is a spot I’ll be returning...
