I am absolutely appalled by the nightmarish experience my family and I endured at Vbar on Santana Row on the night of August 12th. What should have been a joyous occasion turned into a horrific ordeal that left us shaken and traumatized.
We gathered from various corners of the world to celebrate a birthday party and a wedding. Our group included elderly relatives, some of us staying at the Hotel Valencia, and we were all excited to enjoy a memorable evening at a supposedly reputable establishment. Little did we know that we would be thrust into one of the most violent and distressing situations of our lives.
Around midnight, chaos erupted as a brawl broke out involving a group of burly men inside the bar. Despite the alarming nature of the situation, the security staff did nothing to intervene. They stood idly by as the fight escalated, with punches and kicks being exchanged just feet away from where we were seated. Our elderly members were particularly vulnerable, and we felt completely exposed to the danger unfolding before us.
To make matters worse, the fighters moved toward our corner, and we watched in horror as our relative was assaulted right in front of our eyes. It was an utterly helpless and terrifying experience. Shockingly, the security personnel not only failed to stop the fight or protect the customers, but they also refused to provide medical assistance when we desperately requested it. The callousness of their response is beyond belief.
As some of us are medical professionals, we asked for a basic first aid kit to tend to our injured relative. However, the manager, Victor, demonstrated an astonishing lack of empathy by forcibly taking the supplies from our hands and then forcibly ejecting us from the premises. His aggression towards us was as shocking as the initial violence we witnessed.
To add insult to injury, the other security staff members appeared to find our distress amusing. Their callous laughter in the face of our pain and suffering was an added layer of cruelty that further compounded our agony. None of them extended a helping hand or offered any assistance to our bleeding and injured relative.
This experience was not just distressing; it was a profound betrayal of the trust we had placed in this establishment. Vbar and the affiliated hotel left us defenceless in the face of unruly behaviour, failed to ensure our safety, and then ejected us without any consideration for our well-being. It's an absolute disgrace that a supposedly upscale venue would allow such a horrifying incident to unfold without any intervention or support for the victims.
I implore anyone considering visiting Vbar to think twice. This place does not prioritize the safety or well-being of its customers, and it seems that management and security are more concerned with protecting their image than the actual safety of their customers. Our celebratory gathering turned into a nightmare we will never forget, and I hope that by sharing our experience, we can prevent others from going through the...

I was entertaining 2 important guests from another country for the tech company I work for so I took them to the Vbar. One of the Directors I was entertaining was wearing a hoodie. The girl at the door didnāt mention hoodies were not allowed, the bartender didnāt comment on it either.
We were a couple of rounds in, after spending like $600 between 3 people when some guy came over to tell me that the hoodie had to come off. I then saw 2 other guys in that place wearing hoodies and questioned why the discrimination. The guy called security. The security guy said āI heard you have a questionā. I was like āI donāt have a question, Iām confused. Do you have a question?ā He immediately escalated the situation by saying āif you donāt remove the hoodie I will call security and have you removedā to which I responded āI thought you were securityā. The guy walked away.
It was embarrassing, the tone was rude and the staff have a false sense of entitlement. I donāt know who they think they are but if you have certain rules in place, make it known before we get a table and spend a fortune only for you to run us out.
Left a bad impression on the guests, it was brought up in meetings in the office the next day.
No major tech company will ever step foot in there again - Iāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Vbar in San Jose, California, with my friend who was celebrating her birthday last night. Since I'm visiting from Chicago, it was my first time experiencing a club in California. Unfortunately, I have to say the bartender named Scot was quite unprofessional. He repeatedly claimed that he couldn't hear us well, even though he was standing far away in the loud club. He only made an effort to lean forward when things started to escalate. It was challenging to communicate due to our accents, and we felt like we were being judged by the staff. To add to the frustration, when we tried to retrieve my friend's card, they accused her of making physical contact because they were holding it instead of placing it on the table. Overall, the experience was disappointing and left a lot to be desired. My friend's birthday was completely ruined, and she left with a deep feeling of injustice. She was provoked to feel inadequate, even though she was merely upset by such arrogant treatment towards her. It's evident that the staff at Vbar are only interested in vacuuming money from tourists; they don't seem to care about providing...
