Yami Bowl ( teriyaki bowl and Thai food ) — Restaurant in San Jose

Decided to try this place based on Yelp and Google reviews and am very very happy with how delicious and fresh the food is and would highly recommend it. I am generally skeptical of any Asian restaurants that serve more than one type of Asian cuisine, but this place has really surprised me. We ordered two Thai dishes - pad kee mao chicken and spicy basil fish. Both dishes were delicious!!! The chicken in the pad kee mao was so moist, the noodles were perfectly cooked - not over cooked at all like many places tend to do with rice noodles. Both were seasoned perfectly and all the ingredients tasted very fresh. My wife and I will absolutely be trying more of their dishes in the future.

Yami Bowl is one of my new favorite spots in San Jose! I'm a huge fan of Thai Asian fusion food and have been here a few times since first discovering this spot because the food is SO good. The popcorn chicken here is probably the best popcorn chicken I've ever had, and I especially loved how fresh their basil is. My other favorite dishes here are the mapo tofu and the pad kee mow. The flavors and portion sizes here both are unbeatable, plus they let you pick your spice level. For my drink, I always order their Thai tea!

It is seriously amazing! I found this place around January 2024, and I have been going here every the other day for dinner since then. The food was making me so nostalgic. It is the same taste of food my grandparents used to make for me when we lived in China. It is so affordable and the amount is enough for two or even three meals🤭 I usually take half of the food to go for next day’s lunch. The owners are super friendly and sincere and fun to chat with.
