A1 Pho — Restaurant in San Leandro

Management changed (yet again!) a couple of months ago, and now it's Pho La Sen here at this location.

We like what they've done with the decor- there are unobstructed windows all around and it's bright and open inside.

Most importantly- their pho is tasty again! We got the P1 (combo with lots of meat variety). There are no size choices- everyone gets the same standard bowl. Portions and prices are nothing to write home about (pretty standard across the board) but the soup broth is tasty and goes well with the cilantro and other veggies provided. It's not too heavy with meat flavors, but well seasoned and yummy.

The uncle at the counter was welcoming and attentive, as well. :)

I’ve been going to this spot for over 7 years now and it’s been bought over twice. The new owners seem have watered down the broth to make it stretch. There is absolutely no flavor in the pho and even the peanut sauce for the fresh rolls isn’t tasty. I brought the to their attention letting them know that the food had no flavor and and seemed water down. I spent 67 dollars and no one ate their food. The owners disagreed and said the customers love their food. But our waiter who has stayed throughout the buy outs told us that many customers have complained to him and told him the same thing we said. I will never go here again. I miss the original owners...

A very bad experience, I had to eat out today, I had so many appointments. They don’t have a lunch menu, the place was clean , but was almost empty. The waitress was very nice. I ordered seafood soup, it was the worst pho soup in my live. I forced my self to eat, I just wanted to finish and leave, the noodles was old and break when I touch it, the broth was warm and nice, but the rest was a disaster, the only 2 pcs of shrimp and a few pcs of hard to chew squid that are not slimy and mushy, only the cook know what was in that soup. I had a stomach pain after I left. This is a new owner. The city have to inspect this restaurant. On star is more...
