Emil Villa's Hickory BBQ — Restaurant in San Leandro

My husband and I arrived just at the end of lunch time about 1:30 so we said we would take the counter because we were in a little bit of a hurry and did not want to wait for a table. We sat down next to a gentleman and we waited, and waited, and waited... So when one of the waitresses went by after 5 or 6 minutes 🤔 I asked her if the coffee was self serve, if so where do they get the cups because I would gladly go pour myself a cup of coffee! She looked at me surprised, said no it's not self service and that she'd be glad to get it, she walked over to the serving station poured a cup of coffee and brought it back. As she set the coffee down on the counter my husband said I wanted a cup too... her remark was so ridiculous she said, " I only heard her ask for one!" My poor husband said "you didn't ask me!" And our service only went downhill from there!! It took another 8 to 10 minutes for someone else to come and and even give us a menu. I don't know how long it was before someone finally came to take our order...another 7-8 minutes. As I counted the booths and chairs at the counter I think they total 80 or 85 capacity and there were six waitresses!!!!!!!! I counted four Busboys and three Cook's. There was absolutely no reason at all for us to have sat that long! OMG one of the damn Busboys could have walked over and ask if we wanted coffee nobody picked up the slack for whatever their problem was !!!!!! I'll never go back there again!!!! I can get mediocre food any place with better service!! Which by the way I ordered an omelet (doesn't matter what kind of omelet) ...because what I got was scrambled eggs with the stuff inside, scrambled eggs that's not an omelet in my book I got scrambled eggs with all the fixings scrambled in the eggs like I said mediocre!!! Don't bother waiting to be seated for this sub-standard service and food...there are alot of better places to eat in...

I was very disappointed my first time going there , the older lady who works the floor was pretty rude & very uninterested in helping me with my online order, did not greet me upon entering, and also waited in the front for about 5-6 minutes before she came to the front to simple ask “how can I help you?” In a condescending way. Like ma’am, I’m here to pick up my order thatve already paid for … proceeds to tell me all my items are in the bag I made it all the way back to work and was missing items from my order. I just recently went back again to try and give them another try. Maybe she just was having a bad day that day, but again it was the same condescending demeanor, route in an interested in providing any hospitality or customer service, and a professional manner. Upon ordering my food once again online and paying for it, I went to the restaurant to pick up my order. Her demeanor remain the same. She said that all my food was in the bag and once again, I got back to work to open my back to realize items were missing, so I’m not sure if it’s personal or if they do this often but for me it’s the lack of professionalism and it should be a big problem as a restaurant to be forgetting items that are the main parts of the order. Would not recommend unless you actually are going there to sit down. Even then I would recommend coming when the younger worker is there she’s pretty nice and was very helpful when it came to reimbursing me for my meal that her other coworker failed to make sure it was completed and correct it before I picked up. Other than that the food is pretty basic appetizing but no real flavor definitely diner food definitely food that you have to go home...

I enjoy this place very much, and the food is always so good. However, on my last two visits I had a bad experience with the waitress (Aieshsa). I normally go for breakfast, but on a whim, I stopped to have lunch. I was greeted with a mean hello and seated. I ordered the salmon sandwich with a salad. I wasn't offered tartar sauce, so I asked her for some tartar sauce. You would have thought I asked her for a mortgage payment! I was given a very mean look, and she came back with the sauce and rudely handed it me. I ate my meal and left her a tip. The next day I came back to order take-out. As soon as walked in. She immediately looked at me with such hate and disdain, and rudely said "hello". I told her I was ordering takeout and she yelled - "Well, what do you want to order!?" I said politely said I would like to order the salmon sandwich again. She then yelled out "Well, what do you want as your side order?" I told her a salad. Then I told her she was being rude. I paid and then sat down to wait for my food, and then left with my food. I normally get the very friendly, older Asian lady (forgotten her name). She is always impeccable with her service, and super friendly. She is a class act! This Aieshsa is the worse waitress I've ever experienced. She seems unbalanced mentally. You are doing your business a huge disservice by having this person working as a waitress at your business. She does not like dealing...
