Amazing space with the best service and people! It looked dark when we arrived the first time - I am so glad we went and checked the door, because yes, they ARE open, it just looks dark because of the window tinting! Took our 8 year old, because she LOVES sushi - they brought her several extras, because kid - edamame, some soup, a special taste of a new sushi she hadn't tried before - all at no charge! That was over a year ago, and go regularly now, and she always gets at least one special treat on the house when we eat in. It's really kind of them, and I really appreciate having a space that makes kid-dining SPECIAL. They've got a long range view - they're creating a customer for LIFE! I'd highly recommend for families.

(This is super important for me, as I personally don't like sushi at ALL, but kiddo wanted to try, so we did. They really sold her on it, so again, this non-sushi person is a regular here now, and that is because they helped me create / get a sushi loving kid! She eats EVERYTHING on the menu, and I get the chicken. She flinches at any new food, but because they presented it right, didn't flinch at eating eel, and now specifically asks for it! Same with squid and several other obscure ingredients. Major cheers for expanding...

I ordered 4 items, cost $50. I drove there, picked them up, drove home. Bag had 2 small boxes, with very little food in them. We thought they had forgotten 1/2 our order. On way back to get the other half, I ate some of the food. Yuck! All tasted the same- bland & cheery like bubble gum.

I requested money back on them & the rest of our dinner. No dice- no returns excepted! Also told the tiny servings were all 4 items.

I wanted a meal for 2 and not the tasteless mess I was overcharged for. I tossed it out. Probably made earlier, tasted old. Googled Sushi near me & found Sushi Ichimoto. 4 items, cost slightly more but TWICE as much food, probably more. It was so good! Rice fresh, no chewing gum there. Lobster roll was my favorite. 2 people & we had lots left over for tomorrow. No comparison.

I didn’t rate resturant atmosphere because I took it home but Ichimoto was beautiful. So clean & organized- Minami was cramped, chaotic & almost as bland...

Left my phone at home so no pictures. If you want pre-pandemic prices with decade old portion size you came to the right place. The rolls are amazing I got 2 rolls and 1 of them is called the playboy and it was just so light yet flavorful. The entrees is the most important part. Normally for 17 bucks all you get is 1 maybe 2 tonkatsu a long with a salad, rice and miso soup but here you get not 1, 2, or 3 but 4 tonkatsu. Anywhere else this can easily be $25 - $30 but nope not here. The mix tempura is the same. The price vs the portion is a good reason to come back but the flavor is reason number 2. Now the 3rd reason is the service. The wait staff made me feel like all those anime, movies, and TV shows about service are true. It made me feel like I'm in Japan. Will I go back that would he a HELLS YEAH!!! Would I recommend this place YUP!!! Thank you for the great food...

Dropped by over the weekend. Haven't been here in years. The place was packed with little room for standing. Even a line for takeout, too. Definitely get here early. Parking was bad too as the place is on the side of the plaza and there was very little parking on that side of the lot. The service was fair. They were not as attentive as i would have liked. To their credit, the place was packed with guess. The food was okay. I don't remember how the food was years ago, but since they are still there and the place is packed, that alone is a testament to their food. I've had better, but the cost was also much greater. For the price, this place is good. I'm definitely going to try again. This place is a solid 3 stars. I would have given 4 but the service took a tiny hit.

An underrated Japanese Food.. As a Japanese Food lover myself, I kind of set a low expectation coming here.. Since I've been to plethora Japanese restaurant, it's kinda hard to get impressed.. But to my surprise, the food served here is definitely top notch, especially their excessive option of sushi rolls (must try), with most of them looks very interesting.. I've tried their sushi rolls (5 of 5), chirashi don (4 of 5), and teriyaki chicken (5 of 5).. If you come by yourself, I would suggest to choose the sushi rolls, ask for recommendation if you are not sure, they are very polite, as expected of Japanese people (yes they have real Japanese people there)

I grabbed some takeout for dinner - the sashimi bento (with chicken teriyaki and ton katsu) and the fried calamari. Everything was nicely packed, well prepared, and very good. The ton katsu was perfectly fried, the chicken teriyaki was flavorful without being too sweet, and the four pieces of sashimi were fresh and larger than expected. The fried calamari was a solid 8/10, though the sweet dipping sauce that comes with it wasn't my thing. The prices are also very reasonable. I will be back soon.
