This place used to be closer to Texas State and it was horrible. Since moving to this location, it has gotten much better. My kids wanted pizza and I was going to order pizza rolls through their app. Apparently, you could not order pizza rolls through the app. I was tempted to call in, but wanted to order a slice and I know it changes because they are "on demand". I go in to order food and the place is moderately busy with customers. I order food and request everything to go. I wanted Pizza Rolls and she tells me, "oh we are out." Um, lady you are pizza joint, so make them up real fast. I can wait. She then starts making excuses, "Um, I just got here, so I do not know what is going on." That is obvious. As we wait for our food, the young girl hands me the pizza slices. Apparently, she was not paying attention when I told her I wanted everything to go. About 15 minutes later, we got our pizzas and were on our way.
First of all, your online order system is horrible. You need to dump it. It is too difficult to place a simple "to go' order. Secondly, it is a Sunday, football is on. How do you NOT have Pizza rolls? I drove to San Marcos just because we were craving Gumby's. I could have save myself a trip and gone to Buda to your competitor. Third, the young girl in the shorty shorts needs to go. She has ZERO clue what was going on. I was not sure if she was new or probably just rolled out of bed. The shorts she was wearing were a tad bit small for her. Maybe if she was a bar tender at a bar, sure. You work at a restaurant. If the shorts were any smaller, they would need a hair net themselves. I get it that this a college town and you are going to get lackluster service. If you are going to hire folks to run your place, you need to hire folks that are going to put your business in the best light. I was very surprised at the downhill customer service at this place. I had been multiple times and it had always been fantastic. Perhaps I hit this place on and off day. I am not sure. I think the next time I get a craving for pizza, I will stick places...
Read moreOrdered a pizza from Gumby's , came late food was cold. Addition to had the wrong toppings. Called and explained to the manger that the food was not up to standard. Instead of having any customer service courtesy Gumby's manager argued with me over the phone about how he made the pizza himself and didn't know why it was a big deal. When finally he realized that he should probably listen to a paying customer he said he would comp the meal under the number I called on. I verified the phone number to make sure they didn't make ANYMORE mistakes. When calling just ONE week later to re-order using the same cell phone Gumby's blatenely said they had no order history for my number and did not have any history of me ever being a customer. Clearly customer service is not a priority when guests are served poorly and not accommodated when paying good money for food. The manager that night was threatening to end the phone conversation when I told him I felt like they stole my money. Beyond poor service when the business rather be right than the customer. Gumby's did me wrong, reading other reviews people feel the same as well. Don't support a business that cares less about customers. Especially one that could...
Read moreGroup of 10 of us (part of a club) met-up for a chat n chew. Pizzas are great! Thin crust, good amount of toppings. One of our posse had the calzone. Not recommended, unless you like lots of dough & not much of anything else. Caesar salads are HUGE! I had one of those, great for me. And they were happy to give me an extra dressing (no charge) bc was so big. The Pokey sticks with marinara (really, just pizza sauce) were kinda good for those of us who just wanted a little something with salad. Basically, just small slices of garlic pizza dough, but a good vegetarian option or side. Get the small - good for 3, 4 - pretty big for a small! Was really surprised they had a full bar as most pizza places are just beer and wine. Couple of interesting cocktails. I tried something called the Paloma (I think...no, I only had one, but forgot the name), pretty good & not too boozy. Lots of great beers on tap too. Ok, the downside of this place: csfeteria-like atmosphere, and these horrible metal chairs. So uncomfortable that my hubby had to go out to our car & get a seat cushion! Although there is some banquet-type seating, that was all occupied. Clearly, they don't want you...
