San Diego Grill Pros — Restaurant in San Marcos

I first went to a highly-rated grill and outdoor kitchen store on Miramar Rd for advice and help with the design of my barbecue island. I kept having to pursue them, as my contact point would not call me back unless I sent an email or left a voicemail. I even drove down to their store with a USB stick that had all my plans and ideas on it, and never heard back. Assuming that a lack of motivation before the sale would translate to a worse experience on the install side, I decided to look elsewhere.

I sent an email to SD Grill Pros, and 5 minutes later I had an email back asking to give them a call. I spoke with Jessica for about 10 minutes, and gave her my ideas. She called me back the next day with her thoughts, and shortly after sent me some pricing, which was also better than the previous place. I had most everything 2 to 3 weeks later, and she put me in touch with somebody to do the install. After a total of 4 and 1/2 weeks, the project is done, and I can move forward with my life.

SD Grill Pros gave me the experience I was hoping for, and can't recommend them...

Outstanding service and great store. I have purchased and owned many Traeger grills but they are substandard compared to Green Mountain grills. My Traeger grill coating burned off after a few months, followed by circuit board failures, etc. The list was endless.

First, Green Mountain grills are made of a much higher quality steel. After running my grill at 500 degrees quite a few times, it was evident the quality of the grill metal and coating greatly exceeded that of Traeger grills. My Traeger metal heat distribution cover and drip pan warped after the first few cooking sessions.

Second, because most of the internal components; heat shield, drip pan and heat distribution shield are stainless steel and made of a higher quality metal, the did not warp or bend and cleaned very easily.

These guys are great.

Called in on my way from LA to SAN Diego on holidays to get some rubs and noticed they had the Weber limited editions in stock and on sale. I should say I am on holidays from Australia so need to get the Weber back as checked luggage but it ticks all the airline boxes. So after a couple of days I contacted them on facebook one night to confirm they still had it and how much delivery would be to my hotel.

Gave them them the delivery details on Facebook and when I called the next morning with the credit card the delivery was already on its way.

Can’t thank these guys enough for the great service. The delivery was less than the cost of an Uber to just get to the shop.

Now to get this bad boy home to Australia and fired...
