We came for the Japanese cuisine - Inshou. Instead of, we got this HK style cafe. Man, if you take over someone else’s business location, at least change to a different name. This is really misleading. It feels like you want to take the fame of the previous Inshou. The store is big. Service was attentive and quick, but not in a friendly way. The food was just okay. We ordered Hainanese Chicken over rice, Wonton noodle soup, Shrimp dumplings and Chilled milk tea. Dude, I honestly thought the black circle in the picture was a label or sticker. Turned out it was a hole in the middle of bottle. Felt so cheated. And it tasted too sweet. The chicken rice was very salty. The wonton noodle had weird ingredients. Typical wonton didn’t have peanuts. This one had. Both my husband and I could taste the peanut flavor in the wonton, which weirded us out. The only normal was shrimp dumplings. And, the food was kind of on the pricey side.

It is located in a plaza anchored by Marina market, a few banks and a bunch of small restaurants, a big plus since it is also next to a Tesla charging station. I come here a couple times a week for quick and simple HK cafe style food while I charge my car. Highlights… They use their own blend of 5 different type of red tea leaves to make their signature milk tea, it is a must try. Very strong but silky. Their braised beef brisket is also very good, but yesterday I was trying to eat healthy and they made me a pan fried chicken breast with onions and broccoli. No carbs. Super friendly staffs.

Food tasted great, my wife is from Hong Kong and really enjoys the authenticity. As a more Americanized Taiwanese guy, I thought the chashu and duck was fantastic, rice was cooked just right and won tons are super tasty. The wonton noodle soup has a particular taste that my wife assured me is how it's supposed to taste but it's not really for me. Service was typical of a Chinese style restaurant. They had both indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor seating we took was clean. A little on the pricey side though.

We were frequent visitors here because their food tastes good albeit a bit pricey. However, that will probably change after today when my wife bumped her head at the corner of a table. In these cases, it should be completely appropriate to file an incidence report with the police for potential insurance claims. But, we eventually chose not to do so. Despite so, the servers tried their best to ignore us - when my wife was clearly in pain, to avoid any potential troubles.

I would have appreciated it if the servers showed hospitality and treated their customers with passion. But no. They just assumed that everybody would take advantage of them. This is the last attitude you would expect from a restaurant, not to mention their subpar services. We really hope that the owners can make a change in the...
