We went to this place after reading a lot of positive reviews. I wish I could rate this place with negative stars. We had ordered Garlic Tikka Fries,Chilli Paneer Bhaat Bowl and VEG MOMOS.
The Garlic Tikka Fries were under seasoned fries sprinkled with some garlic. There was no Tikka seasoning in it which made the fries bland.
Chilli Paneer Bhaat Bowl: The paneer in Chilli Paneer was hard and chewy. But the fried rice was good.
VEG MOMOS We had specifically ordered VEG MOMOS because we are vegetarians. The lady in the restaurant brought Momos and when we tasted it,it tasted unusual. We were in doubt because Veg momos didn't have any vegetables and there was something chewy stuffing in it. So when we asked the hotel staff(lady) she told casually that it was Chicken Momo. We had specifically ordered VEG MOMOS and the staff gave Chicken Momos. They were not even sorry about it. She asked if she could get another order but we had already lost interest to eat there so we asked for bill. We couldn't eat fries nor Chilli Paneer Bhaat Bowl nor the Momos. But the staff billed 21.95$ and told that she had billed for Bhaat Bowl n fries and gave 10% discount. This was like rip off because it was their mistake to mess up the order, spoil our dinner and then also charge for what we couldn't eat. So guys if you have dietary restriction then either double check what is served or avoid this place. We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was pathetic...
Read moreFood: I've only tried one dish, the veggie chow mein (vegan), and it exceeded my expectations - the vegetables are perfectly crisp and the overall flavor is an excellent balance of umami seasoning, crisp vegetal freshness, and a uniform (but mild) heat. (However, people wary of spiciness should make that clear when they order and ask if the chefs can leave it out. I could see this being overwhelming for my spice-sensitive friends.) Chow mein is often greasy and heavy, but these noodles feel quite light without sacrificing flavor. I will come back for this dish alone - but I'm also excited to try their other vegan & vegetarian options.
My partner got their steamed chicken momo (8 pieces) despite not being too hungry, just to try another local spot and compare against his usual late night momo spot. He ended up eating four of them and said they were "pretty bomb", but said he might still prefer Urban Momo for his late night momo cravings. He also tried my chow mein, and was impressed by it - definitely ate more of both items than you would expect for someone who "wasn't too hungry".
Service: The cashier was patient and helpful despite us hustling in at a quarter to close. He later saw us watching the music videos they play there and asked if we were fans; we hadn't heard of them but really enjoyed it, and he ended up helping me find the artist on Spotify.
All in all, this was a great experience and I'm very much looking forward...
Read moreFood is good ! Hole in the wall place. My experience is spiked by the lady who works here. She has a disgusting attitude and personality. I’m a single lady who went to Shamikcha Momo for a solo dinner on a rainy night. It felt like it was a perfect time for MoMo and Rice. Now here is what happened — After I ordered Rice and Momo, I wanted something else… I requested for the Menu and the lady literally rolled her eyes 👀 looking at my table and said in surprise “you want more ?, really” She was literally saying you have eaten enough. I did say “why would you do that !?” She said “ you can always take it To-Go…” she meant to say I’m eating a lot. I may want to eat more at the restaurant .. so what!? Will she decide how much I should eat !? She is quite overweight herself to tell you the truth. Now I’m going to judge as well. Body shaming is the worst thing you can do. And I will speak up for myself. I am quite figuresque and certainly not fat. …I quickly said no need, paid and left by paying for the food on my table. I did not tip and left it blank. Sorry’ no tip for such a disgusting manager and service. I just don’t want to see those disrespectful...
