Starbucks — Restaurant in San Mateo

The location itself is a-okay. This place seems like a popular place for the locals as there was a steady stream of folks coming through the door for pickups. I found the seating area accommodating and I could get some work done while waiting for my meeting. As far as the drinks, I went with a Matcha Latte and found it to be shockingly sweet. Kind of like any other drink at Starbuck's, I couldn't even taste the Matcha, the syrup overpowered the drink. Since I was just there to meet somebody, I kept the cup next to me so I could keep my seat and dumped it out afterwards. 3 stars for giving me a convenient place to set down my laptop for an hour at a rate of $6/hr. As far as the coffee/Matcha, you guys realize its a sugar rush you're getting and not the caffeine right. How do you all drink this stuff! Stick with the plain drip coffee or at least drastically reduce the pumps of syrup they put in...

— Update —- This place does not deserve one star. I thought I would come here to have a great coffee and enjoy it, but instead, they gave me a tough time picking up my drinks. Why are they so nasty and rude? I placed an order, and sometimes it went with my first name, and sometimes it went with my last name. The woman who took the job of handing the drink to people was very nasty today. She ignored me when I asked if my drinks were ready. She did not even care to check and immediately said they were not ready even I saw my drinks just stayed there and melted. When I found out they put my last name instead of the first name on the order, I picked up my drinks, and she yelled at me in front of people that they were not mine, and she acted like I stole someone’s drinks!!!! Starbucks already is a pretty bad coffee chain, but this store is the worst I've ever visited. They're slow, unwelcoming, and the worst thing is that they don't know how to prepare coffee. Since when does a macchiato (which Starbucks calls "espresso macchiato") have milk in it? No, it's only milk foam, morons. Didn't Starbucks train you idiots at all? Numerous times I've asked the workers here to do it properly, no milk. And almost every time, I get a cappuccino (i.e., with milk). When I complain, they make me a new drink, no apologies for the extra time I have to wait (another 5 minutes typically, which for a fast food chain is quite a lot).
