Holy moly, if you're looking for DELICIOUS ice cream, the BEST food you've ever had, and that local ice cream shop feel (including absolutely wonderful service, a select variety of craft sodas, and a spotless shop,) THIS is exactly what you're looking for. I ordered the Turkey & Gouda, a bottled root beer, and the Chai Tea Milkshake with Coffee Blast ice cream to sustain and revitalize me after a hot day of using a chainsaw. I worked at a local ice cream shop where I'm from, so my expectations were probably a bit higher than most but man was I blown out of the fricken water!!!!! This turkey and gouda sandwich raised me from the dead!!!!! I was expecting just a plain jane sammy with a lil bit of turkey and a slice of gouda but no. This was basically a sandwich salad combo, with the salad included on the sandwich. I swear on everything that is holy that if you like turkey and gouda like me, this sandwich will lift the existential dread of life off of your shoulders, even if it's just for a moment. The bottled root beer was just that - bottled craft root beer. Delicious, cool, and refreshing. A simple classic. This Chai Tea Milkshake tho - HOLY SMOKES YALL!!! This blend of coffee/tea/creamy goodness will send your tastebuds to another level. Check this place out, if you haven't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a pregnant woman with a very specific craving, I made the noble 20-minute pilgrimage for a scoop of sweet satisfaction. I arrived at 9 PM on 7/2 to find the shop open but eerily empty ā no staff in sight. After five minutes of awkwardly loitering like a lost cone, someone finally appeared and greeted me with, āWell, can I get you anything?ā Not exactly the warm, āOh! Sorry to keep you waiting,ā I had in mind.
Still, I was willing to let it go... if the ice cream blew me away. Spoiler alert: it did not. I ordered a single scoop in a waffle cone, only to discover halfway through that I was gnawing on a paper sleeve left inside the cone. That's right ā my crunchy treat came with a bonus layer of disappointment. I couldnāt even enjoy the cone properly, and by the time I got home, my ice cream had turned into a sad, soupy mess.
Pregnancy cravings are no joke, and this little adventure left me more bummed than blissed. Here's hoping it was just an off night ā but next time, I'll stick closer to home (or bring a spoon for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy review is split in 2. Ice creme is one side and are a 4+ star rating. The Sandwich side a 3 - ( minus) star rating. When I was there last it took 20 minutes to make 2 sandwiches and 1 Hot Tea to go. There was no one in line in front of me when I walked inside. 50% of the order was made incorrectly and I had to remind the guy about the tea when I was checking the order after it had been remade. I've been told the young man was new, and to give him a break. I have no problem with people making mistakes, we all do, and no one is perfect. My issue is with people in a service based industry that move at a sloth like pace of speed. It is extremely hard to teach Urgency. I hope the kid works out, because he seemed extremely personable and genuine with his apology about his mistakes. I have to say another experience like my last will most likely be the last non ice creme purchase I make there...
