Is like getting scammed in person!! Read this out. We’re not against “tipping” or it’s not that we’re not happy with the food, it’s more about what ruined it for us on the service part of our experience at this restaurant. So be aware! Our server made $23 for serving 4 meals and bringing us 3 waters, 5 juices and two of their little baskets of tortillas. That’s it. Our bill got added a 20% “large party” tip. 4 kids, 2 adults. 1 adult purchase a buffet so all he brought was the drink and the tortillas. The way he did it was “sneaky”, never allowed us to revise our “bill”, just came to the table and asked cash or card. I asked why the amount and he said there was an 18% tip included, NOT 20%. He said 18%. I tried to do the math in my head and I was a bit surprised it was higher but I paid with my phone. Asked for a paper receipt and bam! Surprise surprise. Because of experiences like this one is what ruins it for people. What should’ve been a family brunch at a very unique restaurant, nice atmosphere turned out to leave us a bad taste for the way their business transaction was handled. Because that what customers are, business transactions. The serving part did not deserve $23 in tips. Specially when it was done it a way that was not transparent. It completely took away the highlight on...
Read moreWell Los Moles you would thin that is has plenty of variety of mole options... well no we went there about 6:30 on a Thursday night. The service was quick and pleasant, got sited right away. The place was somewhat revamped from the old Las Camelias restaurant but still had remnants of it. The drinks were good, unfortunately after my first mango chelada they ran out of mango (WHAT!!) so I had to settle for peach that tasted more like orange and lime margarita that a chelada. then I try to order a green mole to be told they ran out (WHAT AGAIN!) I settle for Red Mole that was runny and blend, not a lot of flavor from spices or peppers. The chicken is a quarter breast that looked like it was factory grilled and re-heated on a microwave to be cover with mole. My children order a Huarache that was more like a the bottom of a 6 inch louis vuitton high heel shoe that a traditional huatache. We had a Gordita that was ok but also factory made and thrown into the fryer. I know this is a new place but with the food flavor, quantities and competition across the street at tequeria El Valle a four star restaurant, I give it about 4 month if any before they are out of business. oh I forgot to mentioned the prices are average of $15 a plate with drinks and ended up spending $140 for 4...
Read moreHmmm came here for a skinny spicy margarita because I saw the reviews for that specific drink were solid.. unfortunately I was disappointed. It wasn't that spicy. Tasted like a regular Marg with pieces of jalapeño in it, when I commented that to the waiter he confirmed that is in fact the definition of a spicy margarita. I don't think so... anyways.
The chips and salsa ($4) was good but the salsa was SPICY. Spicier than the margarita. When I told the waiter he agreed and said "no one eats the salsa because it's too spicy". So we asked for picco. The smallest container ever --- we were charged $2 for that without warning.
In summary, if ur desperate for Mexican food you could go here. But there are plenty of better burrito spots within blocks that have great service and great prices that I'll personally go to 100x over before I return here.
Also ambiance? We sat outside. No more parklet just 2 lonely outdoor tables.
I really wanted this to be my fav spot. But it just wasn’t. Maybe it was our waiter?!? Please let me know what...
