Brasas Bar & Grill — Restaurant in San Sebastián

I am going to warn you, this is going to be totally negative. There was not one redeeming quality of this "restaurant". First off, this place was super hard to find. Secondly, the food was terrible. The fish tacos were made with grouper and that's a great fish, however they totally ruined this dish by putting cheese sauce on them. Then the mofongo with carne frita was disgusting. The carne frita was as hard as a rock and we ended up taking it home to feed to the dogs. The mofongo was tasteless and dry. For how expensive this place is, we expected much better for the price. Thirdly, the service was absolutely terrible. For being a bar, where it is their main job to sell drinks, they failed. Our drinks ran dry and the servers never asked if we wanted them refilled or if we wanted something else. We had to wave them down after sitting forever just to get them to take the order. Then when we had finished this disappointing meal, we waited and waited and waited for the check and it never came. We had to go up to them, and request the check. My mother wanted to pay, so she took the check to the bar to pay, the employees ignored her, she waved to one of them, they saw her and walked away. She waved a 2nd time again the same thing. It took her waving the 3rd time to get their attention just to pay the bill. This is the first time in my mom's life that she didn't give a tip. This was a terrible experience. Yes it is a bar and grill but this was mid day and it was not busy. As I said... There was not 1 redeeming quality for this place. They might be good for drinks at night as a bar, but as a restaurant, stay away....

Food was good. My youngest son ordered wings from the kids menu and Jr. Ordered a hamburger. My fiance had mofongo relleno de pollo and I had the carnivorous (ribs, steak strips and pork). The pork's flavor was not great at all and the steak strips were over cooked and dry... Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. Waiter was Yadiel, very friendly but just trying to hard to earn his tip instead of making us feel comfortable and enjoy our food. EPIC FAILURE! We were encouraged to order a specific appetizer (surtido for 2 people) that arrived 7min after the food. Our waiter said "the cooks are killing me today" like he was not responsible of taking care of us. I said that it wouldn't make sense at that point having the appetizer and our waiter said "oh no worries, I will give you a box so you can take it home" as he walked away. Omg! They did bring the appetizer to the table. When we got the tab, the appetizer was not removed and still untouched on top of the table. I asked kindly if that was adjusted and he said "no, do you still want the box?". If it was just me, I would've just got up and leave. I was so upset! But I decided to no be a jerk in front of my family...I prefer letting everyone know my experience and marking this restaurant as a NO GO for the next time I treat my family. To Brasas Bar and Grill management, take ownership in training your staff. This kid seems like hard worker however your lack of mentoring shows...

The place had plenty of employees, that apparently did not care for nothing. When I first pass by there were plates over a table, with only 3 tables with clients and no one cared to clean the table, even after going to the bathroom and passing again they had not cleaned the table. Besides, the back has a refrigerator from which you can see what is in it (I reccomend to place dark tints in the windows so it can be more private) and at last, the bathrooms are outside of the restaurant, imagine if they did not clean inside the restaurant why would they clean a bathroom outside; and it really was a mess. I was hungry and could have eaten there, but who likes to eat in a mess. I would like to advise the owner or manager to speak with his employees and make them realize that they are there to work and give there customers the best experience. The place looks great, all it needs is a little push from there employee and for these to show ownership and pride. I will return and I am willing to enter and try the food, I just hope they fix these details. It smells great...
