we’ve eaten here multiple times- we keep coming back because the food is the best italian we’ve found around here- but dear god the service is always so horrible.
out of the 10 or so times we’ve been here (some with other people! who commented on it to us after we left!) we have not had a pleasant experience with the wait staff. at this point you’re probably like “okay, what did you do? are you a karen or something?” and the answer is genuinely no, i am not.
i used to work i’m the service industry and when i go out to eat i am trying to be as little of a hassle to deal with as possible. i try to have my order ready, to not have them run back and forth if i can get multiple things done at once, and i tip well.
every single time we go in here, the same woman seats us (seemingly annoyed at us for being there and needing a table to sit at) and then either her or one of her coworkers will take our order (seemingly annoyed at us for not only wanting a table but wanting to actually eat as well) and then they will stand behind the little bar off to the side of the room and not come check on you for your drinks or food for a good while. you will, however, feel like they are staring at you (and sometimes you look up and they are) or like they are watching the game and forgot they are at work (and sometimes you look up… and they are)
you need a drink refill? (filling your glass, annoyed) you wanted to order a dipping sauce and more bread literally six minutes ago and you finally got their attention? (walking to you, annoyed) (you will not get dipping sauce or bread refilled for another six minutes) you wanted to get a to-go box? (slight sigh, walking to get to-go box, annoyed)
but their tiramisu absolutely bangs, that is the best tiramisu i’ve had...
Read moreI had never been to this place before and I will definitely come back again. The service was great, the place was clean and well decorated. The food was good. The only downside was that their softdrink machine was down that day. The best items, the moz sticks = excellent, definitely some of the best I have had. Better than other italian places in Tulsa by far. You could tell it was fresh. Also the bread = excellent. Fresh and hot. The entre was good, don't get me wrong. I could have used a salad to go with it perhaps and I didnt see any desert menu. I ordered the Chicken and Broc. The sauce was great, the chicken was properly cooked. It was clearly freshly made and hot on the plate. The veggies were properly cooked too. My only down side I would say that some more parm cheese on the cube would have been a nice touch. On the atmosphere, it was good, like I said, very clean and updated. I think the only thing that would have made it better would be some Italian music. That would have made it 5 stars on atmosphere. On the food, if they would have had coffee and softdrinks, and pressed me to try a desert, then 5 stars too. But alas, overall yes its a 5 star place for Sand Springs. I will be back and look forward to trying more from their menu. The value was good. We fed three adults, and included 2 app and it was about $100 with a generous tip. I have paid a lot more for Dinner that was a lot less quality. For fresh food with good service, the value was great. So overall, yes this place is...
Read moreThe only thing acceptable about this place was the ONE SERVER That was doing the bulk of the work while the two other "servers" sat on their rumps him drinking his glass of wine and her with her nose in her phone not paying attention to the customers. The not so plesent smell that hits you in the face when you open the door is a mix of mold and canned tomatoe sauce. After sitting down and seeing the salt shaker nearly empty and the rusted pepper and cheese shakers hardly touched something might not be good here. This "bread" that is served is cheap and tasteless. I ordered the Chicken Pesto. Definitely just heavy cream and pre-made pesto from a tub. Tossed with about 30 penne noodles and some overly cooked mushy vegetables. The chicken breast is a precooked pressed and formed chicken breast that had no flavor in it. The only thing that saved this was the reach foe the salt shaker and dumpping half the grated cheese over the dish and picking out the mush vegetables I was able to choke it down. The dynamic duo eye rolls to the customer, their lack of even caring about being at work was setting the mood in this small restaurant. Was not warm and inviting. We left feeling like we were a burden for coming to eat. Our server tried his best but he was doing 90% of the work for the entire front of house. Won't be back and don't recommend. Stoffers makes better Italian food...
