I've been a fairly regular customer for a while now. I understand you are under new management and after last night's experience, we won't be returning.
You revised your menu, and got rid of literally the two things I ever order. Tacos Del Mar, and the Parrillada Mexicana fajitas. I ended up settling for regular fajitas and then noticed the bullshit microtransaction add ons for everything that once came in the Parrillada Mexicana. Effectively making the price $22.87 instead of the $18.95 like they used to be. The last time I did get the parrillada mexicana, I got TWO tortillas with that giant pile of food and then was charged extra when I asked for more. Never in my damn life have I ordered fajitas and then had to PAY EXTRA for tortillas. That's wild. I did appreciate the three I got last night, but when I was done with those, I was afraid to ask for more, because I did not want to be charged. I also added Carnitas to my fajitas, which they didn't even add, I had to ask and she brought me a whole plate of carnitas to add myself. Which was fine, just an oversight I guess.
My partner ordered Verde enchiladas. In the past he always asks to have them covered in verde and then asks for a small side of queso to drizzle on top, and I don't think any waiter or waitress has ever gotten his order right. So he just started ordering them regularly, and then orders a side of queso..which no longer exists. Our only options are medium or large. So he went ahead and said large thinking it was still 8 dollars. And we were very unpleasantly surprised you also raise the price of melted cheese to $10. Then when he got his enchiladas, they were DROWNING in verde sauce.
I also want to mention that your white salsa has not tasted the same or even remotely decent the last four or five times we've come in. I kept hoping it was just a bad batch that day and it would be better the next time and that just never happened. Last night it wasn't edible. And that was always my favorite. Your chips last night didn't taste right either. Like they had been cooked in old oil. They tasted burnt and definitely weren't fresh. My partner Idk almost every single thing we ordered was just not....good.
I understand you're in the business of making money, and if you need it that badly. maybe don't schedule 10 servers on a wednesday night. Because you were so dead last night, your entire staff were just standing around the majority of the time.
The service was great, our waitress last night is one of your best and I have nothing negative to say about her. We still tipped her.
For just myself, I paid almost $30. (before the tip) My partner paid almost $50 (before the tip) for his meal and two kids meals. Unfortunately, times are just too tough for any restaurant to raise or adjust pricing this much when their food is clearly suffering, and we will not...
Read moreThe food overall was good, once they got it correct. The service from our initial waiter was horrible. Let me first note that we had five different staff members at our table in the hour and fifteen minutes we spent there.
The waiter came to our table four times in the first ten minutes of being seated because he couldn't remember the drink order (2 cokes, a Dr pepper, and a sweet tea). We didn't have a complicated order, but the waiter couldn't comprehend what we wanted, even when my preteen pointed to items on the menu. At one point the bartender came over and confirmed our drink order 15 minutes after placing it. After waiting 30 minutes, we get our drinks and ask for soft drink refills the first time. At 40 minutes our drinks were refilled after telling 2 staff members what they were. The manager confirmed our food order at this time. At 45 minutes our food arrived, all incorrect. We ordered boneless wings, 3 cheese enchiladas, and a burrito (we got bone in wings, 1 enchilada, and incorrect items in the burrito). When they sat the food down, I immediately inquired about 3 of the 4 items being incorrect. I got an "uh... I don't know." in response. The manager came over once again and we asked for a different waiter and for our order to be corrected. The new waiter was pleasant and did his job the remainder of our visit. We received the remainder of our order at 1hr 10mins, meaning only one of us was able to eat the entirety of our meal in the time we were there. We took our meals home. After spending nearly $100 at this establishment, the service was horrible and management did absolutely nothing to try and make it right. Won't be...
Read moreMy family and I had never been here before. We live a few hours away but were in town for a wrestling tournament. The six of us ordered our meals and the food was amazing! But my review is not entirely based on the food experience. I got home a few hours later and realize my purse was missing. Thinking back through my steps I realized, my son had spilled his drink in my lap as we were leaving so I got up ran to the restroom and they went on to the car. I never went back to grab my purse. By the time we get home since we live two hours away they had already closed so I could not call. The next morning I drove back to Sandsprings arriving at 8:30 in the morning. You see the purse could be replaced, drivers license, credit cards can all be canceled and re-issued but that day I had taken out a loan against my retirement to pay for my 2 son's college tuition and I had cashed the check for a very large amount of money and in a hurry to make it to the tournament on time - I didn't have time to go to the bank to deposit it. Although I arrived at 8:30 the restaurant does not open until 11 so I sat there in the car for 2 1/2 hours praying. The manager finally arrived and my purse had been turned in With not one single thing missing. Thank you to the staff, to the manager, and whoever turned my purse in......there are still good people in this world. Greatest Mexican restaurant I have ever been to and I will make the drive to visit...
