I haven't been in a while because of the "NO" credit card tip option so I thought I would let you all know why. Food is great, however as a carhop from about 20 years ago I probably made 40-50% of my tips from credit card tips. Now a days that # would probably be higher since people use cash less. Not having a tip spot on a credit card sale simply means Sonics employee's that work for tips will not get one from probably 75-85% of credit card sales. Most people that pay with a card might not even know they work for tips since there is no option and will probably assume they are paid well by Sonic. It is sadly the opposite though as most often restaurants that have tipped employee's can pay them tipped employee minimum wage (In OK that is $3.63 an hour.)(I do think they pay a little more than that though at sonic but not much) I chose to leave this review in hopes that someone at corporate may see this and change this injustice for your hard working employee's.
Great food but as a customer I want to see the people that make it happen paid appropriately...
Read moreThe app is supposed to make ordering more convenient; however, there appears to be a disadvantage. Tonight was not very busy. I used the app to order ahead. After "checking in" on the app, I waited for the screen to say my order was on its way. From that time, I waited 8 minutes until I actually got my food...enough time for a fresh new order to be prepared. I would have waited longer if I hadn't buzzed in to see what the holdup was. All I got was "I'm sorry" when I asked for an explanation. Nothing to counter me receiving barely warm food that had been sitting who knows where when it should have been delivered when indicated. If the app needs a 5 minute buffer built into it to counter problems at the individual stores, then maybe that should be looked into. The perks aren't worth it if I can go through the drive-thru and get my order much quicker and...
Read moreWent here tonight got there at 10:32 and they had me sit there until close. Never took my order and every time I pressed the button they would hang up after about five minutes. I pressed the button a few more times and they would answer they hang right up. I used to work at sonic so I know that when the button is flashing they haven’t answered but when the button is solid red they’ve answered. But they wouldn’t say anything then would hang up. They brought everyone else their orders but refused to take mine. I told them when they answered the last time that it was very rude to have customers sit and wait for 30 minutes and just ignore us. I’m super pregnant and all I wanted was a small Oreo blast. Next time I’ll just drive the extra five minutes and go to McDonald’s for an Oreo McFlurry since sonic would rather ignore...
