I found out about this shop today, so I drove up from Tulsa to visit. I live in East Tulsa, so it was about a 32 minute drive to the shop. My first time here.
Upon entering the store, the lady at the front counter glanced at me & did not greet me. I went to her and said hello, and asked how long the store has been here etc.
I began to browse, and a nice Caucasian couple entered the store about 30 seconds to a minute later and In a cheerful voice, the lady at the counter said, "Hello." As I walked around, none of the workers at the rear counter greeted me either. I knew I didn't feel comfortable to spend money here, although they had a great selection of clothes.
As I was walking to the door to leave, the same Caucasian couple that had entered shortly after I came, were exiting the store without having puchased anything; the lady at the front register said to them, "Have a good rest of your day." As I walked out shortly after them, she said nothing.
I do not like to think that my skin color is a disadvantage to me, nor do I like to believe the lie that all white people are inherently prejudice, because they're not. I just don't know what happeded here. It made me feel truly inferior. I hope I was not treated without being welcomed or noticed due to my skin color. Hopefully not. I was literally the only person of color in the store. I'm headed to another shop now.😩
UPDATE: I decided to come to the "Super Thrift" store in Supulpa, since I was already west. I was immediately greeted when I stepped into the store by Amanda. And she helped me find some 40-80 percent...
Read moreThis is by far the best place in the Tulsa area to sell your clothes. Yes, it's a drive, yes you have to wait until the clothes sell to get your money, but it's worth it. I get way more profit from them then I do any other resale place in Tulsa. Key is you have to continually bring in clothes. They are also the best organized, they have their system down pat. And they are very consistent with what they take In. They are always friendly and don't have a high turn over rate. Would...
Read moreI understand they have to price things so that the store and personal seller make a profit, but a lot of items are priced at original pricing. Specifically if it's an item from target, old navy, gap, and other similar retailers. You might as well buy brand new items for the price. However if you are looking for bigger name brands you can get a better discount than original pricing. My biggest issue is that the clothing racks are so stuffed I can barely move the clothes over...
