Food is great! But don't you dare walk in on a Monday and stand at the counter, you will be met with eye-rolls and sighs! We don't know their schedule by heart, as we normally only visit on weekends. It was Monday and we saw people sitting inside and the door opened. So we go in and check out the menu, all the while brunette curly haired employee stands behind the counter, watching us with disdain.
As we approach the counter and order, she says in a snooty tone: "Our kitchen is closed on Mondays, didn't you see the sign?"
Umm, no we didn't, we saw people and employees inside and didn't read all the posters and signs strewn all over the door, sorry!!
Why even have the doors open? And why the need to condescendingly speak to customers?
I work with the public and if I were the employee I would have been nice about it and said: I am so sorry, but today our kitchen is closed. And I wouldn't have watched the customers checking out the menu for 5 minutes with rolling eyes.
Why the attitude? You know, how you treat customers ultimately will decide on how your business is going to fare and I have visited often, and each time I feel like I am a bother when I approach the counter.
So no more Bluebird Bakery for me! Connie's it is for breakfast! Those girls there work their tails off and are really friendly, even when they are way more stressed than these primadonnas...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to visiting this spot with our two young kids. Unfortunately, our experience was soured by how we were treated by one of the staff members, specifically the person working the pastry counter with the beard.
We politely asked if he could cut a croissant in half so our 3-year-old could share it with his 1-year-old sister—something small that would’ve helped us avoid a meltdown. Instead, he refused, pointed us to the utensil stand, and said (in a condescending tone), “Well, you’re best equipped to deal with that.”
As many parents know, sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference when you’re out with young kids. Unfortunately, our son did melt down, which made it difficult for us to enjoy our visit and also disrupted others who were there trying to relax.
We understand staff are busy and there are policies, but a bit of kindness and understanding can go a long way, especially when it’s such a simple request. I hope this place can become more family-friendly in how it supports guests with...
Read moreTHE SANDWICHES HERE ARE HUGE!
I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband the turkey and both were very dry bread.
Other than that everything was wonderful.
If I ordered something with a croissant maybe ask them not to toast it? Not sure if they use the older ones for sandwiches or the toasting is a little too much. But they taste stale and dry on the sandwiches we ordered.
The regular bread sandwiches looked massive I would try one of those for sure.
Order something with avocado expect to get the whole avocado and that’s surprisingly awesome.
We also tried the gruffin 10/10 if I would have known I would have bought a dozen.
We also had the croissant with the cookie inside I believe. It was I think the best hands down!
All in all I would come again if I were in the area. Quite possibly the only place I would go in that area for the pastry alone. I would just make sure to order in a way to avoid...
