404 Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Sandy Springs

My friends and I were looking forward to to coming to this establishment! We read so many good reviews about the establishment to show up and have it be the complete opposite. They charge and overhead gratuity of 20% which is no problem, but there is a problem when we go 15-30 minutes between water refills and for the waitress to come back & check on a table when. Don’t even think about ordering food unless you have 1.5 hour to wait for it. This is no exaggeration we ordered food at and not a single plate touched our table for 1 n half hours. One of which was the Rockefeller which does not even require you to cook anything, just dress them and send them out & yet that was to much to ask for. The kitchen really does what ever they want to do, my table ordered all our food prior to a large party coming in & they all got their food before we ever got any of our food! On top of that they ordered some of the same appetizers as my party for them to be able to receive their food items and then our waitress to come back to our table and tell us they are sold out of the item! Lastly the “owner” of the establishment was less then helpful, all he did was offer half-hearted apologies with no real solution to our problem. Then the best he could offer was to give us a shot for free….. the fact that we are having such monumental issues with your establishment, offering alcohol is not going smooth over this terrible experience. On top of calling us angry as we left the establishment. The lack of emotional intelligence and compassion to understand that anger was underlined by frustration. Frustration that nothing about this establishment held up to the reviews online, frustration that they were doing less than bare minimum to rectify the situation. Also not to add to the stereotype that black women can’t show any form of a negative emotion before being labeled the “angry black women” . This was just our food experience, the hookah experience was also less than satisfactory! They charge and insane amount for it to have constantly been harsh and them not being willing to help fix the manner. All n all my party did not have have a good experience, and I would never recommend this restaurant unless you are in the mood...

The Food & atmosphere was so bomb! After ordering our food everything came out in a timely manner. The appetizers came out 15 mins after ordering and the food came out 15 mins after that. Made very fresh & hot! Nothing to complain about there. Now a few cons was how the drinks could’ve definitely been better. We ordered drinks with tequila incorporated in them and barely tasted any alcohol. Dont get me wrong I love a fruity tasty drink but that’s literally all I tasted was a very delicious fruity drink with a small hint of tequila. Our drinks were $18 each. For that price they definitely could’ve been a tad bit stronger. And another con would be the communication between the waitress & online menu. Online ALL their entrees says with ANY (2) sides of your choice. So while ordering our food the waitress went over the sides, including the lobster Mac & cheese. So I proceeded ordering my (2) sides one being the lobster Mac, which was very delicious btw. Everything was all good until the bill came, I was charged an additional $13 for the lobster Mac and a 20% gratuity fee for me & my husband. Mind you it was only 7pm. Nowhere on the menu did we read there’d be an up charge for the lobster Mac and a 20% gratuity fee. Now I don’t mean to sound cheap but 20% for only (2) ppl at 7pm is a lot to me. It wasn’t late nor were we a party of 5 of more. That 20% is a bit outrageous. That’s definitely something that should be posted on their menus, along with an up charge for the lobster Mac. The menu shouldn’t say ANY (2) sides of your choice if when selected a certain side for your meal it’ll be a up charge! That’s something else that needs to be stated on their menu.

Just to avoid confusion and making your guests feel like you’re pulling one over on them. I don’t go anywhere assuming anything. I like everything spelled out to me vs it not being listed at all then get hit with a high bill after I than sat there chilled, ate my food, had a few drinks and vibed out in your...

Let’s start with the positive..We drove 1 hour to dine here Wednesday night in which they do Wine Down Wednesday! The band and the women who sang were absolutely amazing! Definitely a vibe! Now the Negative: we had a 9:15pm reservation; arrived at 9pm there were already at least 3 couples waiting by the door with no hostess in sight! There’s a sign that says “please wait to be seated” and it also says you can only dine in for a hour and a half max no exceptions. That’s was a little strange. As time went on we all watched as servers, bussers and food runners zoomed by and no one acknowledged us! Not a word! More people came in to where there was no place to stand! Eventually someone asked the bartender about a seat that was open in the bar area to which they sat down! Everyone began to complain. Evidently it’s open seating in the bar area (any seat to the right of the door). Many asked for the manager who NEVER came! We contemplated going elsewhere but everything was closing and again it’s an hour to get back home. We finally sat at 9:55pm. Our waitress was attentive and fast. We ordered the $75 for two meal which consisted of 4 lamb chops, 2 lobster tails and 2 sides (we ordered the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes). The food was overcooked and microwaved but it was seasoned decent. The wine was overpriced and they didn’t have Chardonnay. We had been wanting to visit this establishment for some time and unfortunately will not be returning. Dine at your own risk but please be fair to the waitresses and bar girl. They are overworked and clearly are taking the fall for the lack of management and communication! Atlanta has many other restaurant/bar options I’d seriously suggest you go elsewhere!
