I kind of fell into this place on accident after I was at Kroger. I decided to have a few tacos. The Asada,Chicken and Short Rib. They took a bit to come out but when I got them I realized why. They were all very fresh and hot. Like they made each taco and the filling to order. The Asada taco was juicy and flavorful as was the chicken. They were all good. Gustavo the owner came up to me and asked me if I wanted to try their salsa. He brought over the two most popular ones and they were delicious. They were creamy and fresh and he also brought me out some chips. They also make their chips to order. They are blue corn , organic and they came out hot and salted to perfection. Really crunchy and delicious.
Everything was so delicious I told Gustavo I’d be back with my girlfriend and was literally back in a few hours. I told him I was coming and when we got there he had a table waiting for us with a cute sign for us about date night. It was very nice. We decided on some drinks and they were both so good. My girlfriend got the Coconut Margarita and I got a Spiced one. So refreshing and tasty. We had the Tuna Tostadas which were so good I could’ve eaten a dozen.
Then we had some more tacos. They have an add on with the tacos where they cook the filling with cheese it was great but the tacos are really good as is as well. We were there on Thursday and the place was probably the most lively restaurant in Sandy Springs at 9pm on a Thursday.
We really enjoyed the experience over all. Gustavo and his staff were warm and very friendly and made us feel like part of the family. Needless to say we will be going back and bringing friends. These are mu favorite tacos I’ve had in Atlanta.
I can’t recommend this place enough for the food, atmosphere and friendly...
Read moreWhat is the best form of advertising? Word-of-mouth, of course; so when multiple people told us there was a new Mexican joint near our Chastain neighborhood that we had to try, we took it to heart.
My family and I walked-in on a blustery winter evening. The place was packed, so we sat way up by the front door. Any concerns we had about being cold or lost in the shuffle were quickly dispelled, though, as first Dariangel, then her sister Dari, and finally Alexandra stopped by to welcome us and offer advice about the menu. Their attention and knowledgable suggestions became the cornerstone of a fantastic dinner.
Each had a favorite drink, appetizer, and dinner that we just had to try; and each one was worth a return trip. First, the drinks were amazing, and the bar was open to customizing any drink (such as a spicy margarita with mescal) and even creating cool mocktails for my son.
Alexandra insisted we have the tuna tostadas, and her enthusiasm was justified. With these we ordered the pork belly sopes, which were equally as good. Dari suggested the Pastor tacos costra style and it was probably top two of any taco I've had in Atlanta. The only thing that didn't meet our expectations was the birria taco, but with the pastor being so good, I'll never complain (the birria was tasty but served dry, so it was just different). We also enjoyed the asada and carnitas tacos. Everything was super fresh and well prepared.
While you won't be overwhelmed by the decor, which is charmingly basic, the great food, drinks, and service make Polanco a perfect...
Read moreSo So disappointed, but they didn't care so I don't either and obviously the rave reviews came from friends, employees and a few people they decided to impress. #1 I was the only person in there and they sat around talking before coming to help me. I didn't see the meal I wanted on the menu at first but saw It in the kids section. I asked the girl did they have an adult version of it and she made a face and went into a whole thing about I can't have that it's for kids blah blah before I could cut her of and repeat myself "I WANT THE ADULT VERSION". So it comes and the grilled chicken was OK, the rice was bearable, the refried beans tasted like processed. No bread of any type with meal which was an overpriced 2stars at best. Now back to the service the girl that took my order NEVER came back to check on me and purposely everyone in there avoided eye contact so I had to walk to the bar to order a drink. The bartender was the only one that acted like she knew the business and at LEAST asked me how was the drink, mind you, they were a few tables away 5 of them hanging out in a booth yapping laughing and turning their heads every time Iooked their way. I had to ask for water and then ask for a straw. And I was still the only patron in there! Tip for what? I still tipped a few bucks and I will NEVER NEVER EVER go in that place again they wanted me to take it personal and that's just how I took...
