This location used to be on point, and now my kids can't even get a steak quesadilla from the same guy who used to simply say that it would be an additional charge for steak. I don't mind paying an extra dollar or whatever when my kids ask for steak, they LOVE the steak! The quality of the food has declined in the past months and the service experience has declined as well. Tonight they skimped out on pretty much everything we asked for. There was barely any steak in my burrito and I always get an extra scoop of pico and the new two scoops is about equal to one scoop from before. The guacamole we paid for was about half what we used to get as well. My children's kids meals had hardly any rice and 20 minutes after eating everything in their meals they're asking for snacks. Instead of arguing with the guy I just probably won't return to this location any time soon. Out of every Costa Vida I've been to (locations in Utah and other states included) this one USED to be the best I'd found. The staff used to be super friendly and personable, however, those staff members seem to have moved on to greener pastures. After my last 3 visits it is obvious that they are just not what they used to be. I used to tell people to drive an extra few minutes to go to this location but after whatever changed (possible management?) I would feel like a horrible person for recommending this location to anyone I care about. The one good thing I can say is that the steak tonight was actually seasoned well and what little bit of it was in the burrito was delicious. I understand cutting costs, but when it directly affects the quality of your finished product then your customers may just move on to the greener pastures your previous employees went in search of. Unfortunately, after 3 poor quality visits this review probably won't be getting any chance for redemption in the...
Read moreMy family and I will not be going to this location again. Our friends and family will likely not come here after our negative experiences. We recently moved to Sandy 4 months ago and have been very disappointed by this specific Costa Vida. The first several times were frustrating with carelessness and constantly repeating our order. The last time we bought meals for our family was horrific. The line was nearly out the door and moved at a snail’s pace. All the meals were prepared with slow sloppiness. When reviewing our receipt we noticed we were charged $10 for two small kids’ quesadillas---not even meals! At Café Rio you will find similar quesadillas for free! When bringing this to the attention of the staff and the manager, it took nearly 10 minutes for them to come to their senses and offer a refund. I was given a receipt where the manager wrote her name at the top and told me to come back in if this did not show up on my credit card statement several days later. Sure enough, it did not show up and I went back in hopes of getting my money or even a salad. However, the manager was not in and the staff was clueless of how to help. I came back the next day and the same manager told me she could not remember the incident although her name was on top of the receipt. She spent 5 minutes analyzing why I was even offered a refund and then told me I needed to bring my credit card statement in for her to review. I couldn’t argue with this lady because she seemed so crazy. I left knowing I wouldn’t see a refund from Costa Vida as I would never be willing to let that incompetent manager review MY credit card statement or go in 4th time for a simple refund. Costa Vida needs to reevaluate their manager training as well as customer service and charging for quesadillas while their competitor offers...
Read moreI ordered a full-size salad on the app for pick up, when I returned home with the bag I realized it was just a half size salad. I called customer service and they were super friendly and gave me the option of going back and getting the full size salad or being refunded so I chose to be refunded. I’m really not happy with the way this was handled in the end because I was only refunded $1!!! I would never pay for a half salad for $1 less when I could get the full size for just $1 more, but I feel I was forced to. I was under the impression that I would be refunded for the full amount of the half salad since it was their mistake and I was inconvenienced. If I knew this was going to be the case I would’ve gone out of my way to go back and get the full size one. Due to this misunderstanding and the way it was handled it has left a bad taste in my mouth for their food. I don’t know that I will be ordering from CostaVida again anytime soon as I feel like it was a big waste of money and they were very unclear what they were offering to make it right, poorly handled in my...
