Read moreChanging my review! Our first visit - a few of our orders were wrong, but the 1 person working there fixed them for us. The guy there asked us multiple times to review them on Google, so we did, and gave them 5 stars. Our second visit (today) - my husband ordered, and then was told it would be a 25 minute wait after paying. He realized *3 minutes later that he forgot to ask for mushrooms to be added. He told them and they told him it was too late. He had to then waited 35 minutes for food that we didn’t want because they wouldn’t accommodate our request a few minutes after the order was placed. I talked to the staff member, and asked if we could please have a side of mushrooms instead since they refused to add them to the dish. He said “no because we don’t have a price for that.” I went back and forth with him for awhile trying to see how we could get mushrooms. He told me that he would “get in trouble with the owner for adding mushrooms.” I said that that’s fine, that we would just like to cancel the order if they cannot make it how we've requested. He said he couldn’t do that because the food was already made.
We have gone to Karuwaa’a South Jordan location many times and they have always added mushrooms to our order. Their customer service and food is much...
Read moreI have waited a while to do this review as I wanted to give it an honest try. I live nearby and was excited to see a Nepali place move in as I love Nepali food and we really needed some vegan options in this area. But after 4 different mediocre attempts I don't know that I'll be coming back.
My first time in was right after the grand opening. A basic chana masala bowl, it was ok but not amazing. Next time I went for a vegetable biryani which is one of my go-to nepali dishes and is hard to screw up yet somehow I got the most flavorless biryani ever. I then tried the aloo matter. This is my favorite dish at other Nepali restaurants and I was sorely disappointed. This past attempt was some vegetable Momo. I figured dumplings would be a safe choice, Momo is pretty similar across the board.. they gave me chicken Momo instead of vegetable, which I can't have due to dietary restrictions.... They are lucky I'm not a super strict vegan who would freak out at accidentally eating meat but if this happened to someone else who is stricter vegan in a moral sense, I imagine there would be hell to pay but at this point I'm done trying. It makes me sad that this place hasn't been what I hoped. I would've loved to have a good Nepali...
