There is a reason that this restaurant have been open for the last 20 years (21 next October) , and is very simple : food quality. This is a great place for Indian food , whether you are a newbie into it or just want to enjoy the great flavors this restaurant offers you. Also if you are a vegetarian or meat lover you’ll find a dish for you here.Their menu is not as extensive as other Indian restaurants but that’s a good sign on my book.Food here is made from scratch (but the Naan breads) and you can truly taste the difference. If you are a vegetarian or want to try a good vegetarian dish , the Malai Kofta is simply superb as well as their coconut korma. If you are a meat lover , the Chicken curry and tika masala are a must try.I also love their pakoras , fried to perfection.Their mango Lassi is made in house with fresh yogurt and mangos and it’s fantastic. Prices per dish varies from 10 to 13 dollars but you’re paying for good quality. Excellent service and plenty of parking around this restaurant.A must try in the Sandy area.

Food loving friends: If you are a fan of Indian Cuisine, then do I have a place for you! Royal India in Sandy is my current food OBSESSION. We've been eating there almost weekly for a couple of months now. I get their Lamb Boti Masala and my partner gets their Lamb Coconut Korma... y'all it is heaven in a bowl. Their rice is so fragrant and delicious I could eat just that by itself and be happy. The portions are amazing, their naan is amazing, I could drink 7 mango lassi's and never get tired of them. Their staff treats you like family, and the atmosphere is so charming. Don't feel like going out? They're also available on DoorDash. Trust me friends. If you like Indian food, you will NOT be disappointed.

I just can’t say enough good about this place. From the second we walked through the door, the customer service was exceptional. My little girls (yeah, I take my small children to eat different cuisines to build those pallets!) loved it. The entire staff was so cute with them and were on top of everything (my drink was never empty). The food was amazing. Some of the best I’ve had in UT. We ordered mango and berry lassies. I’ve had mango before but the berry was a fun, new experience. We ordered garlic naan, samosas, chicken tikka masala, chicken coconut korma, and malai kafta. Oh yeah, and you can’t forget the Rita. Best Rita I’ve had. This will be my new go to choice for Indian food. Hands down.

This place is hands down the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to. This is the first review I've ever written, and my purpose is to warn you of what you are likely to experience if you choose to eat here.

Tamarind sauce and mint chutney served with appetizers are watery and not very good. Rice is not basmati, but rather cheap white rice, which is overcooked and watery. The most expensive items, such as chicken tikka, comes with a sauce on top to try to hide the fact that it is not fresh from the tandoor. The garlic naan is made with garlic powder, instead of the typical minced garlic. Don't expect fresh cilantro garnish on entrees. Other reviewers are also correct that the flavors of the various curries are off.

When I talked to the manager about the terrible rice, he insisted it was not terrible, and exclaimed "it's Utah," and "we get the ingredients we get," deflecting blame to the cheap ingredients. He then says that the basmati rice is an upcharge, and while better than the first rice we were given, it was still too soft.

I ordered chicken vindaloo, hot, which they served to my son, while giving me medium.

The problem seems to be the cooking more than the ingredients. Everything is rushed out like a bad catering job, and it's clear they cut many corners in this place.

Our server was good, and the manager was friendly.

The manager, and I assume the owner of this place, simply don't know what they are doing, and may not even know good Indian food from bad. They are rushing reheated food out, and taking advantage of people that may not know what Indian food is supposed to be like. The prices are quite high given the low quality food.

The country of India should sanction this restaurant as it's a national...

If you’ve had Indian food outside of Utah then find someplace else. The food I ordered (mushroom mutter, tikka masala, garlic naan) was all poorly prepared, incorrectly spiced and completely disappointing overall.

I don’t order out much so this was a comprehensively disappointing experience.

Going into detail, the tikka masala sauce was obviously “made to measure” which is to say they make a very mild sauce and then just add a spice to it when you order “medium” or “hot”. So the tikka masala has no depth of favor, you either get so much spice you can’t taste anything else or it’s like tomato soup.

The mushroom mutter was all chunk and zero sauce, that might sound good but it’s absolutely not how I’ve ever experienced this dish before.

The garlic naan was an embarrassing example of leavened bread. I think someone made an error with this bread because it was the flabbiest, flattest, saddest naan I’ve ever seen.

This is a strip mall restaurant, which it totally ok but any of their reviews that talk about ambience or service are most likely fake.

This is a restaurant that used to have good food but I’m guessing they’ve switched owners and the new owners are cutting cost...
