Came here twice in two days to try it out. First for dinner, where we got excellent and warm service from our waitress. The food took quite a while, which is expected during a dinner service, but we also noticed our appetizers and entrees arriving underneath the heat good peace-meal style, like nothing was dropped to synchronize completion of the ticket. This meant our calamari sat under the heat lap for an entire 7 minutes before the rest of the food was placed there, and then we had to wait another 4 minutes for that ticket to be run. The result was not inedible, but didn’t like they are able or interested in doing the work of intelligently timing out apps and entrees for the best experience at the table drop. They weren’t particularly busy on a Monday night, and lots of staff seemed to be milling about, which made the food piling into the window seem especially strange. I was super bummed that the steak bites tasted completely unseasoned, while the brisket was so salty we had to turn it away. Came back on Tuesday, and things were kinda flipped. All the food came out hot and fresh, tried some new things and liked them. Kids fare is priced perfectly. Simple, hard to reject kids comfort classics. Between the main and side for each kids meal I imagine it’s pretty easy to put something together any youngling might like. Service was super cold, we were greeted with a back turned while walking away. She pulled the same maneuver on the next guests to show up, greeting them with her back turned to them while she storms past into the restaurant, leaving them with questions and confusion. I watched them shrug at each other and pick a space to seat, since nobody told them anything, and then they were chastised for picking a table with drink rings on it, and removed and re-sat, which seems like a lot more work than just saying you’ll be back to seat them. It seemed like we, and their other paying guests, were just an inconvenience to them. I tipped 30 percent on 140 the first night, and 10 percent on 70 the next day for lunch. I tipped according to service quality and the last thing I expected was to be spoken to in such a different way across just two experiences. Radically different standards of service. My partner and I have tried seven cocktails between us across two days. If you’re set on having a drink, just find a beer you like on tap, drink spirits near, or on rocks, or just keep it to something simple like a vodka soda, whiskey sprite, rum and coke, etc. Every list cocktail was something we...
Read moreI came here for a drink and some pizza before catching a movie. It was a Wednesday night around 6 and it was SLAMMED. There were only two waitresses and they were working their butts off! I felt bad they didn't have additional help, however, they still made sure I was taken care of. They were especially understanding (and accommodating) when I mentioned I was trying to catch a movie.
So that was the service, let's talk about the pizza. There are four sizes of pizza here: Mini, Small, Medium and Large. I ordered a small pepperoni and Pineapple pizza for $12. They also bring you bottles of Ardvark Hot Sauce and ranch with your pizza, which initially I was puzzled by the ranch. I got to the end of my slice and the lighbulb went on. The end crust is very thick and braided. It's basically a breadstick at the end of the slice. It's also very chewy and a bit dry, so the ranch assists with getting it down. Flavor-wise, the crust is very herby with a thin layer of slightly bitter sauce. Cheese was typical mozzarella.
Overall this place is pretty decent. Decent pizza, decent prices and exceptional help. My only advice is I would order a medium or large as it's the best value. For a few extra bucks it's worth it for more leftovers. Also, they smoke brisket here and THAT smells amazing. Might have to try...
Read moreWe have always been fans. The covered patio area is nice. However someone had an unruly dog. It was aggressive multiple times with guests and server. I'm a huge doggie fan. Perhaps a table outside the covered enclosed area would suit pups better. The dog was behaving protective and put in a corner of space. An open area may have been better. Snarling, growling, lunging during a meal isn't pleasant for pup, employees or guests.
Our food was just OK. Tots were hot and tasty. Bbq sauce great. Ceasar salad lettuce was warm and mushy. Chicken was reheated and super thin and dry. The brisket potato was blah. The meat was stringing like a pot roast and tasted like pot roast. If sold as pot roast potato it would have suited description. The Brussel sprouts were very good.
When we pulled our silverware out of cover it was covered in oil and food. Definitely not washed. Our server was observed scratching his junk, then passing out Togo containers. Over all the restaurant has potential but needs to clean up literally, cold cold * hot hot. It could use a smaller menu with better quality and time put into a meal. The place was slow for it's usual past wait times. Hoping they can use reviews to fine tune a place that has and has had a ton...
