Oh Applebee’s. So many chances I have given you only to be aggravated disappointed and hungry in the end. My family had sworn off Applebee’s completely. The service is always terrible l, the food is subpar, and their prices aren’t that great. My wonderful father in love, in honor of his late wife, would always give his children a gift card to Applebee’s for Christmas. Well we decided to try again. HUGE MISTAKE! We arrive and it’s busy so we have to wait for a table. No big deal I’m a patient person. My husband myself and our grandson are finally brought to a table and we were warned that our waitress had a “big party” but could handle them and us. Ok. Mind you this big party consisted of 5 women. Now if she considers that big I think she needs to find a new place to work. We wait about 30 minutes while she chit chats with the other waitresses and roams around the restaurant like she’s in a day dream. Finally we order. It’s 3 people and a fairly simple order. Kids pizza for the child and the 2/25 deal for me and my husband. Our salads are brought out fairly quickly. But! No silverware. Are we cavemen? Supposed to eat with our hands? We wait another 10 minutes before she comes over to check on us. We get our silverware and start our salads that looked like they’d been sitting for quite a while before we got them. An hour goes by. Our waitress comes over and looks at us and says “no food?” Nope no food. Now all the other tables in our section had already begun their meal. She brings out the pizza finally and my husbands extremely (burned) well done ribs and says “we are just putting your chicken on the skillet”. I told her forget it I dont want it. She rolls her eyes goes back to the kitchen boxes up mine when it’s done cooking brings it out and says “since you’re gonna pay for it anyway i just boxed it for you”. At this point my husband was livid. He got up asked for a box for his food and the child and she tells him she doesn’t have any large boxes and he demands a supervisor. She comes out and we explain I tell her I’m never coming back that I was fed up. She offered free meal tickets to try to lure us I declined. It’s not worth it. I despise this place. Truly hate it and will never eat there again. I’ll regift the gift cards. $30 for aggravation....
Read moreSanford, NC Sit down. This is a long review. Worst restaurant experience that I can remember ever having. We were a party of 10. Our tables were in a narrow area (wall one one side, walkin area on the other). People were coming and going, bumping our backs much of the whole time. Server was not familiar with the menu. We had the 2 for $25.00. We ordered up from 6 oz. to 8 oz. $2.00 for each was reasonable. With the 2 for $25.00, you got 2 sides or 1 appetizer. We went with 2 sides and added an appetizer. Appetizer came. We had the boneless B.B.Q. wings. They were cooked to death. Hubby and I tried one apiece. Set the others aside. We both wanted salads and baked potatoes. We we're told all vegetables had been recalled. I had heard about romaine lettuce, but not all vegetables. Also, apparently they do not sell baked potatoes, at all?! Who sells steaks and not have baked potatoes for a side?! So hubby ordered fries and the 4 cheese macaroni. I settled for roasted potatoes and 4 cheese macaroni. I asked kindly could I have a small portion of spinach and artichoke dip, which they said they had ( remember all vegetables had been pulled)... I did not want 2 carb sides. That was a no! The food did come in a decent amount of time. The steaks were a small clump of beef, overcooked and around the edges were burnt. We ordered our steaks medium. The 4 cheese macaroni had been cooked and was dried out. The roasted potatoes weren't eatable. They looked like small charcoal bricks. I asked if a roll or slice of garlic bread came with the meal. It didn't but she was nice enough to bring us 3 garlic bread sticks. So we do not intend to ever go back. Don't...
Read moreWent there last night after catching a movie at the cinema next door. Just wanted to grab a few drinks and hang out for a short while. Walked up to about 20 people loitering outside, smelling strongly of smoke and alcohol, who were being loud and obnoxious. Had to awkwardly walk through them to get inside. It was after 10:30, we went in and the hostess told us there was a 20 minute wait. We saw that the bar was mostly empty and asked if we could sit there. She said yes. So we went to grab some seats, promptly the bartender came over and informed us that the bar seats were "reserved" for the people outside. I asked her if "reserving" seats for people playing games outside was allowed, and she said yes, and that if we wanted to sit in those sits, we could pay their tab. No this wasn't just one or two seats, it was about 3/4 of the bar stools. One man sitting by himself on the other side of the bar called us over and said he believed the two seats next to him were available, so we moved over there. Again, the bartender came over and said, these seats are reserved, too. I asked her if she was willing to turn away service over this, and she said "They have been here since 4:30 and they are playing games outside." Okay, so now I am to understand that this large group of people, who have been drinking for 5 hours, reserved the entire bar on a busy night before a holiday, so they could play games outside? At this point, we just left. The bartender was extremely rude, offered no solution. I'm still just in aw that this happened. Unpleased with how we were treated, and have no desire to go back after this, especially after reading reviews about the food...
