Review of Cattle Ranch Steak House in Sanford: Despite its longstanding presence in the community, Cattle Ranch Steak House failed to live up to expectations during my recent visit. As soon as I stepped inside, the outdated décor and unpleasant smell were unmistakable, signaling a need for some serious improvement. The menu, presented on basic paper without any pictures, lacked the visual appeal I typically look for when dining out. While I had hoped for reasonable prices, the final bill left me feeling a bit disappointed, especially considering the plain atmosphere. For roughly $40, I received a steak, small salad, and fries, a price tag that seemed a little high given the overall experience. As for the food itself, the ribeye was decent but nothing special. It didn't stand out compared to similar offerings at chain restaurants like Texas Roadhouse, Longhorn or Outback. Service was okay, and the restroom facilities could definitely use some cleaning up. In summary, Cattle Ranch Steak House fell short of the mark for me. Despite its history, I left feeling underwhelmed and unlikely to return anytime soon.

This is a nice family owned steakhouse! Very cute and uniquely decorated restaurant that has a homey vibe. If you have the time to sit down and eat in no rush, this would be your spot. Everyone seemed friendly and you could tell they get a lot of regulars. (: Service was super slow from walking in to be seated, to getting the check. Once I was seated, it took about 30 mins just to order my food. The flow of the restaurant was consistent but not busy. I ordered the half order of the buck skins loaded and a fried chicken salad with a water. The water tasted mildewy. Both plates came out super hot and fresh and were GREAT portions. Also, the menu offered on Google is totally off. Please update your menu prices on google because it is false advertising.

This is a nice quaint steakhouse that just celebrated 40 years of service. The staff was very nice. The food was very delicious. The prices were not bad at all. They are only open for 3 1/2 hours a day except for Friday and Saturday they are open for 4 1/2 hours, I love the atmosphere in this restaurant. The lights weren’t too bright. It was nicely lit, and it had a very local business field to it. Of course it is a local business. I love supporting local businesses over large corporations and chain restaurants. I would definitely recommend this establishment. I will definitely be back. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The baked potatoes were delicious and the bucks skins were very delicious. They make fantastic southern green beans as well.

I hate giving negative reviews. (and I love steak) However, the steak I had last night had to be in the top 3 worst I've ever eaten. (and i've eaten hundreds in my lifetime) I ordered the ribeye, medium rare with the buckskins and sautéed mushrooms/onions. When my meal arrived, I knew I was not going to be happy. The steak couldn't have been a half inch thick if it was stretched. It looked like a skirt steak and had all the characteristics of an eye of round. Tasteless, tough, and stringy. The first bite was nothing but seasoning...(i hadn't eaten for over 6 hours, so I wasn't going to let that stop me). I looked at the meat, and the outside was well done. I started pulling the meat apart with my fingers and it's stringy gristle. I took a bite into the middle, only to find that it's basically raw. When the waitress came, I pointed to the meat and asked how done it looked. "Well, unless you have ketchup on it, it's raw. (ketchup? maybe she thought she was being funny) You want me to take it back to the kitchen and have it warmed a little bit?" (the outside was well done, and the inside was raw. this "cook" has no reason to be touching a steak, let alone preparing steak in the first place. what i wanted was a steak worthy of the reviews) No, I'll just eat what I can. Thanks. (I knew there wasn't going to be any help from her. So why bother.) The Buckskins were good. On to the sautéed mushrooms/onions... The mushrooms were MIA, and the onions were so salty that I had to look twice to make sure they were even onions. Sons' burger was wolfed down, so I can only guess that he liked it. This place has such great reviews, and I had hoped for an excellent meal. When I want steak again. (and I most certainly will) I guarantee you that it most assuredly won't be from here. For me...Supper was a complete and total disappointment, and I will not be back. Ceiling tiles stained and sagging, bathrooms WILL NOT accommodate a disabled person with wheelchair, (ADA?) Don't want to know what the...

I've never had a bad steak from The Cattle Ranch! They're always hot, moist, and very flavorful. I almost always get their "Cowgirl" (16 oz. t-bone) when I stop by and have it cooked medium. Always comes out perfect. About the only thing that I can say against any of their food is that their salad has gotten much smaller than it used to be. Economics, possibly. Not much demand for it? Possibly that as well. Their 'house' (peppercorn ranch) is absolutely amazing! It's my favorite salad dressing ever. The brown bread that comes with the meal always comes out nice and warm and is a nice compliment to the meal. The Cattle Ranchs' loaded "buckskins" (potato wedges with cheese, bacon, chives, and sour cream) are fantastic! (I like mine a little crispy.) The service has always been great here. I've been patronizing this establishment for over 35 years back to when it was Rhonda, her sister, and their momma running the place and the service has always been friendly, attentive, helpful, relaxed, and not overbearing. The atmosphere inside of The Cattle Ranch is great. Maybe a little dated, but honestly, I'd never want that to change. It's always been such a wonderful experience throughout the years, going there, that changing anything up might ruin it. We've had so many birthday dinners, anniversary dinners, special/ romantic dinners.. and even after work employee dinners there that I'd really hate to see anything change and mess it up. So keep doing what y'all are doing there at The Cattle Ranch and I'll keep coming in and I'll keep recommending y'all as the the best little steakhouse around....

We waited for 10 minutes at the please wait to get seated sign before anybody ever even came up to us and said it's going to be a minute we had a party of eight we got seated after that and was told it's going to be a while before your server can come over , I went to the bar to get a beer and a water for my wife which only took 3 minutes I was happy my friends caught onto my trick and they went to the bar and ordered a pitcher needless to say that entire thing got drank by two people before we ever got any service the waitress was actually absolutely phenomenal I do not want to take credit away from her we loved her we all gave her great tips but the food completely sucked my pork chop look like it's been cooking out on the Sanford Ave all day one of my friends ordered a filet mignon didn't even get that cut of steak and it was overcooked pretty sure everybody at the table was disappointed in their food except for my wife who just got chicken tenders.

Got seated at 6:30 ordered apps and got some more beers 2 more pitchers ordered our food with those pitchers and final got our tabs ( which was a complete disaster because come to find out the kitchen staff or owner doesn't want four tickets turned in for eight people they want everything on one ticket so the poor waitress had to rewrite everything which we didn't know that till the end) was finally back out the door at 9:46 to go home for those prices and quality of food that's ridiculous to me honestly and very sad.

Y'all can do better and should...
