Another restaurant I visited based off a Google search. It had been a long time since I had pupusas.
Came in, it was kinda empty but the place feels spacious because of the open setup. I found the restaurant clean but did not see any trash cans around for me to throw away a napkin I used to wipe down my drink cup.
I was there strictly for the pupusas but they do have other non-salvadorean dishes, like pizza and subs.
I ordered one chicharron/cheese and one cheese. I was given the option of hot sauce or regular sauce. I went with the regular simply because I wasn't sure how hot was "hot" and I wanted to make sure I got the cleanest taste I could. She didn't mention anything about the curtido, but I asked for some. Maybe it's just understood that it'll come with curtido.
Since the place wasn't too crowded and my order took a bit to come out, I knew that at the very least my pupusas were going to be fresh.
I started with the cheese pupusa, put my curtido on it and hand dipped it in the sauce. That first bite took me back to my first experience with pupusas in Los Planes de Renderos. The only thing I was missing was the view of the Salvadorean mountains.
Honestly, the best pupusas I've had...
Read moreI've been driving by Pupusas & Burrito Grill for a few months now. Finally stopped by on my way home from work to grab some dinner. First impressions when you walk in are that of a brand new, squeaky clean restaurant. The dining room was pretty simple, and they utilize an open kitchen layout so you can visibly see the cleanliness of the kitchen from the register. I had no idea they had fried chicken, so that kind of stole my attention right away. After reviewing the menu, I ended up going with the cajun fried chicken tenders. The tenders were absolutely delicious (although some choices of sauce would be a nice touch). I believe the owner was the gentleman/woman working that day, both very kind and welcoming people. Food was cooked to order and available after a very short wait. The owner was generous enough to include a pupusa with my order so I could really see what they are all about. I have to say that pupusa was downright delicious, and I ended up side-lining my actual meal so I could take down the entire pupusa. That was my first time ever trying a pupusa and I promise you i'll be back for more.
Thank you for the generosity and the delicious...
