I wouldn’t say this is the best Mexican restaurant but the food was fairly good. Starting from the parking lot the restaurant looked sketchy. This was the only place we could eat because we were at the fair and very hungry. We walk in a we have to seat ourselves. As we do as said it takes forever just for menus and salsa/chips. There weren’t even much costumers. Takes forever to get our food as well. The waitress didn’t talk much or even at all, I asked for a Pepsi but got a sprite. They also served people who came in after us faster than us. The bathroom was just horrible. It stunk so bad and it was trashed. The restaurant looked like a house. When I say the costumer service was bad I mean it was bad! We were there for about and hour and forty mins, possibly more. The price was overall too much. We got cheap meals and it just to end up as $30 when our meals were nothing near even $20. The workers were speaking Spanish and talking about us. As one female looked at us twice and spoke in Spanish, the other people laughed. Horrible, just horrible....
Read moreHORRIBLE FOOD! My husband and I took our kids to lunch here. The food was disgusting. The refried beans tasted like they came out of a .99 cents foodlion can. My husband ordered a steak torta and the steak was so chewy and dry he didn’t eat but two bites. My youngest son wanted fries and chicken tenders. The tenders are from scratch but yellow and taste horrible. The fries were ok, although he didn’t even receive his food until we were ready to leave!!! I wanted a bean burrito as I don’t eat meat and asked for rice on the side. They stuffed the first half of the burrito with beans and then stuffed the half with rice, after I asked for rice on the side. The rice was disgusting. The only thing that was good was the chicken quesadilla my kids ordered and our drinks. The waitress didn’t check on us one time and then expected a tip. She saw we didn’t touch any of our food and didn’t even ask what the issue was! Would not recommend this place...
Read moreBy far the best chimichanga plate I’ve ever had. I was actually surprised that they charge so little for what I consider to be 5 star worthy food. Their rice has a cheesy twist to it and the salad they served came with a fine guacamole. Their salsa is amazing with just the right amount of kick to it. Definitely the most authentic Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. I spoke to a gentleman named Felimon about a sauce served with tortilla chips at a place called Plaza Azteca in Kill Devil Hills, and he made it a point to get their information in order to try to match it! I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to do that. Great service and great food! If you’re ever in Sanford, you should check out this family owned restaurant! I’m definitely going to be one of their regulars from this point on and I would recommend the same to anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican food...
