Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Sanford

Celebrating double birthdays Golden Girl theme style on Sat April 27th 10 Am. Big planner here. . We were misinformed originally when we spoke with management over the phone about decorating pre party. Party was at 10 am however we were told we could arrive at 8am to decorate and they wouldn’t charge us if we bought breakfast buffet. Honestly wouldn’t have minded a charge. When we arrived they didn’t have the room, then we waited for folks in the area to finish eating and we set up a few tables and sat amongst the guests. Our buffet receipts were visible yet we had to track down our waitress for coffee. Not kidding our waitress (Hispanic female mid 40’s)had a scowl, had to track her down twice for coffee & on the second attempt she snatched my cup puts it down and says I’ll bring it to you. She then in front of me pours a new cup turns her back to me and walks clear across the room and serves the next table. Honestly I wanted to watch the pour since I feared she’d spit in it. She comes back pours my cup and hands it to me. We were there to celebrate a double birthday and we couldn’t have felt less welcome. Loved the food that’s why it has two stars. Unfortunately the interaction we had with our server at the Sanford location in N.C. has me seriously questioning returning. I’ll go else where; where I am appreciated. I just wanted a peaceful day where we could celebrate my baby sisters bday she shared with her hubby. Staying positive and forcing a smile as to not upset my sister was tough. Will not ever celebrate birthdays there again....

Had a decent meal yesterday evening. My mom took me and my son to Golden Corral. It was my son's first time there and second time ever to a buffet. He was super excited for salad but unfortunately they don't carry his favorite dressing, pomegranate vinaigrette, he tried another vinaigrette and he said it was too spicey. 😄 He was thrilled to be able to get a big bowl of applesauce! He is really picky, but I was really surprised he liked the macaroni and cheese. We also got some of the strawberry icecream topping and mixed it in after he ate about half of his bowl. He said that was the best thing ever. 😅 We were pleasantly surprised to see the slushy machine and enjoyed the cherry limeade. I enjoyed the sweet potato casserole, which I always have, sautéed mushrooms, cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and a fresh dinner roll. But those are some of my "I have to haves" from Golden Corral. I did have a small slice of chocolate cake, I did not eat the icing bc I didn't like it, but the cake was really good.

We did sit on the left side of the restaurant, salad bar side, and it was so very hot. The dessert side was much much cooler. The temp of the restaurant is my only complaint...

Wheres the selection anymore. Prices increase items decrease. I know this is corporate doing so so that's not why the 3 stars just not to happy about it. But as far as a review of this location quick to get through the register servers arent that attentive to introducing themselves or refilling drinks. You wait and wait for a steak and they ask you how you want it cooked but time and time again guess what? It doesnt matter it's always well done and dry. And depending on the time of day your lucky to be able to get some buffet items because they arent replenished or what's left is some soggy or crispy gross looking scraps and finding a table well how dirty do you like your table yes some are cleared off some arent but they're wiped down with a nasty looking rag so how clean can it really be or they arent wiped down at all I couldnt tell you what's worse to me. There needs to be some attention paid to proper sanitation and care for customers I know it's a buffet but there plenty of hole in the wall buffets with less funding a lot cleaner and a lot more attentive and this seems to be one of the more expensive ones with the lowest...
