
I was accused of being a thief at this location a week ago today. I took a shopping cart that didn't have any merchandise in it into the bathroom after conversing with the guy that was cleaning the bathroom. I even waited outside the bathroom looking at my sales paper while he finished up. And complimented how good the bathroom smelled. Let me back up and explain why I took the cart into the restroom with me...not that it matters since there was no merchandise in it. I had my sales paper and coupons and purse in the cart. I need time to view the paper and compare my coupons so I had planned to do that while I was sitting on the...while I was handling business. That's why I took it in there with me...can't balance a purse, look at paper, compare coupons and do your business with something to help hold all that stuff. Anyway, as I came out I browsed the clearance rack before moving on to the bacon which was for the first coupon I had. I noticed the manager, the cleaning guy, and another guy standing by the milk, but thought nothing of it. As I'm checking prices on bacon as well as my coupon I'm approached by the manager Frank Smith and asked about my motive for taking the cart into the restroom. I explained. He then asked to search my purse. I told him that he could but it wouldn't stop there...meaning I would take things further. He searched my purse still. He ask me again why I took the cart with me into the restroom and I explained again..using some not so ladylike words. He walked off and not once apologized for the humiliation that he had just put me threw...customers had stopped their shopping and was looking onward. Now, I'm no one important to the public but I've held down jobs (criminal justice field) that made my face a familiar face to a lot of people and to have this happen I was just shocked, embarrassed, disgusted, and humiliated. Now, I have got to say that I will never shop at this location or probably any other for that matter after what happened to me. I'm awaiting Lidil to open up...until then walmart and piggy wiggle and save alot will get my business. Thanks for reading. Read moreThis is the third time I have gone through this cashiers line 3 separate occasions today is the final straw the first rude encounter I let it pass as maybe she’s had a rough day the second time I’m giving the side eye this time you deserve a review because I’m not confident in the leadership/management to handle this. not to fire her that’s not the goal here at all but I’m not confident that they would even speak to her about her attitude as a customer service representative for food lion. First off she did not greet me either time she just starts to scan my items bag them and then set the on the counter even though my cart is right there and she was very intentional with not placing them in the cart. after I paid for my items she said nothing handed me my receipt and turned to greet the white lady behind me im specifying because to me her attitude was racially motivated as mind you she did NOT GREET ME she barely gave eye contact. I did tell her you have a nice day as I turned to walk away. Now I am big on reviews always have been however I do not review every single time I’m in and out of Food Lion only when it’s really good or like this time really bad. If you are working in customer service surely you know you will encounter those you don’t like or hate in which I was made to be believe that by YOUR ACTIONS you work as a representation of Food Lion is this approved of by the owners? Read moreI went shopping early in the morning to do my weekly shopping ahead of Hurricane 🌀/ tropical storm Debbie. I had completed filling my cart and noticed the manager placing cash drawers into the full service registers When I asked him if the registers would be opening soon, he said "yes in a few minutes." I responded okay and asked where I should wait. I was told that I was fine where I was. About 5-10 minutes later, I was still waiting(I should mention that the manager walked past me twice and did not say anything). I then went to the customer service center and asked the young lady there if she knew how much longer it would be as I had frozen food items in my cart. She said that she would check , walked away for a moment, and then came back to inform me that I could only check out using the self-service registers. As previously stated, I had a full cart. The young lady stood and watched me without offering any assistance. To add insult to injury, one of the full service registers was opened after I began scanning my items by the aforementioned manager with a cashier that I witnessed him speaking with outside in the parking lot after he asked me to wait.
I should note that the young lady did assist me with finalizing my transaction. By scanning her card to allow me to finish and make payment. Gee thanks.....
